Seth Meyer's ESPYs Monologue: Heat, Brian Cardinal & Dodgers Get Roasted (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

Seth Meyer's hosted the ESPY Awards last night in Los Angeles and took funny jabs at a myriad of sports biggest stars in his opening monologue...even if they didn't always follow along with the joke.

Meyers started off the evening by greeting everyone in attendance, including the millions watching from inside Brian Wilson’s beard.

While Wilson didn’t win any awards, his beard, as well as his spandex tuxedo, got their share of attention.

Meyers then took aim at the biggest punchline in sports since the conclusion of the NBA Finals, Lebron James and the Miami Heat.

“Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh refer to themselves as the Big honor of how many quarters they play,” quipped Meyers, garnering one of the biggest laughs of the night.

Staying with the NBA, Meyers poked fun at the recent engagement of Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries, saying that Kim Kardashian decided to date a New Jersey Net because “she’s tired of dating pro athletes,” to which the audience jeered. “You don’t have to ‘ooo.’ No Nets are here,” assured Meyers.

The SNL star also touched on the post-Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver, the financially struggling Los Angeles Dodgers, and, of course, the NFL lockout.
