Puppies Galore! Dog Photos For The Summer

This summer is quickly becoming the season of puppies. Two weeks ago, a Dalmatian gave birth to 16 puppies, and earlier this month, the world was enthralled by the world's most excited puppy jumping for joy.

While this spring did have a puppy cam and a cool puppy time-lapse video, not much beats a whole lot of Dalmatian puppies. Except for maybe just a whole lot of different kinds of puppies. Thus, we've made a slideshow of just that.

It should be noted that not all puppies have happy homes, and the Humane Society estimates that 3-4 millions dogs and cats are euthanized in the U.S. each year. If you're looking for a pet, consider adoption.

When my chihuahua Charlie was newborn, my brother could put him in his shirt pocket and only the top of his head was visible....soooo cute!

About one million of the 3.1 million dogs available for adoption get new homes, leaving 2.1 million additional dogs euthanized.

I love puppies! Thank you for remembering to add how many animals lose their lives each year. While I love puppies, I will always make a rescue choice regardless of age. And I think we all should do that! All companion animals deserve better than they get in this world. Sorry...Debbie Downer....Still love puppies!!! Little puppy breath, little puppy excitement, little puppy explorations. They are cute!
