The Los Angeles Times:

This summer -- a full 16 months before the general election -- television viewers across the country are already confronting hard-hitting commercials jousting over President Obama's record on the economy. Such political ads are usually confined to places such as Iowa and New Hampshire at this point in the race.

Elephants, clowns, freakshows, runway barkers, games con-artists and roustabouts. The republicans make me nostalgic for the circus.

The first wave in the assault on our American democracy by special interests, the rich and their foot soldiers, the GOP.

Without a doubt, I HATE CAMPAIGN time.
The guttural time of subjective lies and endorsed blind siding.

They spend obscene, absurd, amounts of money and waste thousands of "man' hours to try to get a political edge, which is as fragile as a single fracturing word, spoken in haste or "secretly taped"!

The network monkey shiners, grease their spin machines and the politicos bash each other like a MMA fighters. The lying stench can be smelled even through our television screens.

They each stretch any issue into a nonsensical twist and shout out glaringly ignorant rants.

The networks raise the audible sound bite levels, so everyone in the house, can hear them.

Then a few of them get elected, and proceed to become the, do nothing politicians elected in every other political race. Thus the same glaring issues for the past fifty years.
It's all in the game and it's all a time and effort wasting sham!

Nobody knows anymore where to find truth or where to find what's real, and what's not real.
Reality is as we now know, subjective.

The overview,

( Today in political news, Mr. blah, blah, was elected to lead his defiant legion party,
in his acceptance speech, he thanked all of the "little people" for making certain that he had the opportunity to become one of the fast talking, shifty eyed, minion that it takes to run this cold, hard, political machine, and humbly acknowledges his sacrifice for his fiddle made of gold.)

the massive cash of the oligarchs pulling the strings of their political puppets begins leading us into a bold new corprotocracy for the 21st century.A place where only money and power and merit and the hard workin folks get screwed out of their pensions to give tax breaks to the very wealthy.

It's hard to understand what kind of lipstick it's goinf to take to make the pig that is the Republican Party look attractive. Between the stealth takeover of state governments, their bold attempt to dismantle Medicare and (Social Security if they could) and their idiotic base threatening to take the country down in a way never even contemplated before, they have their work cut out for them. Maybe through mass hyponosis they will be able to convince enough people that tax cuts for the rich really do work and we really don't want Medicare. But their tired old arguments are growing old.

The Merriam-Webster WORD FOR THE DAY describes the GOP contenders:

Definition of ANACOLUTHON
: syntactical inconsistency or incoherence within a sentence; especially : a shift in an unfinished sentence from one syntactic construction to another (as in “you really ought—well, do it your own way”)
— an·a·co·lu·thic adjective
— an·a·co·lu·thi·cal·ly adverb

Origin of ANACOLUTHON
Late Latin, from Late Greek anakolouthon inconsistency in logic, from Greek, neuter of anakolouthos inconsistent, from an- + akolouthos following, from ha-, a- together + keleuthos path
First Known Use: circa 1706

All the 2012 candidates know that Ailes is a crucial constituency. “You can’t run for the Republican nomination without talking to Roger,” one GOPer told me. “Every single candidate has consulted with Roger.” But he hasn’t found any of them, including the adults in the room—Jon Huntsman, Mitch Daniels, Mitt Romney—compelling. “He finds flaws in every one,” says a person familiar with his thinking.

Roger is the Murdoch of USA, republicans can not afford to offend Roger or their head will be on the chopping block. When politicians of all flavors stop pandering to people like Roger maybe real governance will prevail, (I can dream and I know it is unlikely but you never know.)

17 more months of flawed candidates that expect 2/3 of the population to vote republican even thou they haven't dealt with any of their flaws. Good luck with that. The real agenda of the republican party has creeped out in 2011. Most voters are in the middle class. Republicans have this habit of harming the middle class. Not even corporate money can defend republicans against the war on the middle class. Make sure you post on election night 2012.

Thanks a heap SCOTUS for that CU decision. You will never convince me that a corporation is a person. I am already sick of the attack ads. They have been running in my city for weeks now with various BS names listed as those responsible for assaulting my senses. 16 more months of this cr*p to avoid by muting or changing the channel. I don't need to listen to anyone's pack of lies. I already know who I am voting for ... and against.

So true - so true ---

"The 5 big lies of the GOP are:
1) Government is bad; 2) Spending during a recession and deficit is wrong; 3) Regulations are bad; 4) Government must balance its budget; and 5) There is much voter fraud in the US.'

Lie # 1: Government is bad
Truth: Our government is what got us out of the 1930s depression which could have destroyed our country. Our government is what defeated the murderous fascist regimes of Hitler, Mussolini and Imperial Japan of the 1930s. Our government builds our infrastructure which is necessary for our economy. Our government funds basic and applied scientific and medical research which are vital to our economy and well being.
Big GOP is bad, not government."

Oops. You don't watch Fox or you would know that the spending is what caused the Depression to last as long as it did (WPR projects and the like). They have rewritten history, and the low-information, fearful, hate-filled foxheads are buying it.

Of course they are buying it. That's because they don't want to think for themselves and let the fear mongers think for them. That might be soon coming to an end with international investigations to begin on Murdoch. How poetic it would be to see Fox brought down with this sleaze bag. Nothing shows Fox's true colors more than that new host taking over for Beck (don't know or care to know his name) saying that there were no attacks on American soil during Bush. And NOT ONE of the other four commentators corrected him. NOT ONE!!! Then he tried to blame it on the overreacting and hateful liberals for calling him out on his own words. These people are disgraceful.
