'Harry Potter' Cast: What's Next For Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson And Wizard Kids (PHOTOS)

Harry Potter Kids

The release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" may mark the final -- record breaking -- chapter for the wizards and witches of JK Rowling's magical world, but here in dull reality, the moment marks a graduation, not an end.

While so much of the buildup to the film has focused on the nostalgic, looking back on an unforgettable decade that saw certain stars grow up on screen, there is indeed life after Harry Potter. Already stars for their association with the biggest film franchise of all time the young wizards and witches of the film now have the chance to step out on their own, trying on new projects and testing out that which they learned at Hogwarts.

Here's a glimpse at some of the biggest student names in the Harry Potter saga, and what they plan on doing with their newfound freedom and fame.

Harry himself! Already a Broadway star, in "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," Radcliffe will next appear on film in the indie supernatural thriller, "The Woman In Black." He's said that he wants to one day direct film, too.

Hmmm, I suspect Rupert fades away, Emma finds out not having breasts hurts the career prospects of starlets, and Harry Potter gets a random role or two before giving interviews several years down the road complaining of being typecast.

I hate how barely none of the media give any credit to Rupert. He is the best actor of the main trio, and it's annoying how he is not recognized as much as he should be. Rupert has done the most other roles outside of HP of the trio, and I tell you, he will be nominated for many awards in the future, and when he does, I will be laughing at all of you. Of the rest of the trio, Daniel is also going to have a great future in acting, but honestly with Emma, she's only the most recognized of them because a) she's hot and b) has good fashion sense. She's a good enough actress, but mark my words, no one will remember her for her acting (outside of HP of course). Her star will fizzle within the next ten years.

Hopefully they stay successful! Best of luck to all of them.

Maybe one of them will get REALLY lucky and get a starring spot on a sitcom with a guy in a dog suit...

That's an excellent series, BTW. Anyhow, Wood is a midget, so he didn't have many prospects in H'Wood movies.

This last movie was poignant and a satisfying ending to this fun story.
The kid-in-me really enjoyed it, even more than my own teenagers.
Well done to all and thanks for the ride.
It was fun.

As for the last movie, IT IS GREAT and I do wish all the actors the best. But, there is always a but, there were a lot of holes left. So we shall see?

Ya and with out Potter some will never be heard from again. It is ridiculous and selfish to end something the fans clearly want more of. If JK doesn't want to do it anymore thats fine, there are other equally tallented writers out there that she needs to support and not sue.

Neville Longbottom! Hero of HP and major hottie. Who knew!

Emma Watson also has "My Week With Marilyn" coming up this year.

I think all of them will be successful post-Potter in their own ways. Some of them will work behind the camera (directing, screenwriting, costume design), some may go into completely different careers, but I believe most of them will stick with acting and dabble in other areas.

They're all bright and talented young adults, so there's no worries as far as them going off the rails is concerned.

Some of them will fade into the dust, although one or two may make it. Most child stars do not make it.
10:43 AM on 07/18/2011
Most AMERICAN child stars don't. The Brits (Christian Bale, Julie Andrews, Nicholas Hoult, Kate Winslet, etc) have a much better track record.

Considering they all started when they were 9-12 years old and are now in their early 20s, I would say they've already made it.

Seriously. Not a Danny Bonaduce in the bunch.

They have such a smaller group of actors. I am not surprised. You see the same ones over and over again in most big movies. I don't mind they are GREAT. But, that could be why.

OMG! Now that could work. I was not much of a Roger Moore Bond fan (more of a sizzling Daniel Craig/Sean Connery fan), but he has that sort of low key, button down swagga that Moore possessed.

I remember seeing Tom Felton in Anna and the King ... that movie was awesome and he was so cute back then! Not that he's extremely good looking now. :)

Let me make some wild and crazy predictions Radcliff is going to develop a drug problem in the next five years when the spotlight start to fade, followed by a reality show and maybe a comeback in the inevitable HP sequel.

Watson in the next five years will pose for playboy or star in some European art movie where she going to be partially or totally nude to end a family and kids movie typecast situation and to be taken more seriously as a "serious actress".

Grint will disappear from the public eyes in the next 5 years until some journalist find him live like an hermit.

And in the next five years Michael Gambon will star as Gandalf in a LOTR remake that will tank at the Box Office.

Pessimistic much? You know, that doesn't happen to everybody. It also sounds like you're talking about Hollywood stereotypes and that's not the environment they're in. (Although I do understand that addiction doesn't only happen in America.)

Daniel came out a few weeks ago as being a recovering fall down drunk, so maybe he should come to America to resist the temptations of London.

Grint's actually doing rather well for himself, He's been doing more indie films than blockbusters, he's got 4 movies (I think) in different stages of production,
including one i can't wait to see "Eddie the Eagle" about the first British ski jumper to enter the winter Olympics.
