Bee-Wearing Contest In China Won By Wang Dalin (PHOTOS)

This might be your worst nightmare, but in Shaoyang, China, it's just part of an annual tradition.

The annual bee-wearing contest didn't exactly attract a swarm of entrants, but two Chinese apiarists competed to see who could attract the most bugs to their bodies in an hour-long contest, the BBC reported.

Contenstants wore nothing but shorts, goggles, and nose plugs, and stood on a scales so that the weight of the bees could be calculated.

Each contestant attracted the bees by locking a queen bee in a small cage and tying it to his body.

The victor? 42-year old Wang Dalin, who added about 52 pounds of bees to his frame

honey bees are pretty harmless. if you cultivate them you'll see. You can work on the hive with and not wear any protective gear and you will be fine. they may crawl over you but they will not attack you as long as you handle them gently.

Ok, I understand how you get them on. But how do you get them off. At our local county fair a local man used to make a bee beard to show children that the bees could be safe. It is not crazier than that guy who limbs buildings, or tightwalks between buildings or bungie jumping off a bridge. Just different strokes.

No wonder so much screwed up stuff is made in China! They're just freaks!! Seriously, who in their right mind would let a bunch of potentially harmful bees latch onto their bodies - just so they can say they had the most poundage of bees on them?? I think they have way too much time on their hands!!!!

Yeah, you're right, there are only weird contests in China. Oh wait, except for the Nathan's hot dog eating contest, every challenge on Man Vs. Food, the old "who can drink the most water" contest (which resulted in a death), who can go over Niagra Falls in a Barrel without dying and every freakin record in the Guiness Book of World Records.
