Ohio Church Holds Mock Retrial Of Casey Anthony

Casey Anthony Mock Trial

07/18/11 10:31 AM ET   AP

CLEVELAND -- A church service in Ohio has included a mock retrial of Casey Anthony, the woman in Florida found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter.

WJW-TV reports Sunday's exercise at the In Touch With Christ Christian Center in Cleveland was led by the Rev. Una Keenon, a retired municipal court judge in the community of East Cleveland.

She asked the 12 church members who acted as jurors to consider whether it would be right to send Anthony to death row if she did not kill her child.

The church jury was hung, with eight voting guilty and four voting not guilty.

Bishop Prince Moultry, the church pastor, said the important lesson from the service was to protect children in Cleveland from the same fate as little Caylee Anthony.

They dress up and go to church and this is what they do? What next will this pastor with too much time on his hands prescribe for his docile congregation on a Sunday?

Looks to me that even the lovers on some kinda high cannot come to the right conclusion. I wonder if the churches verdict will accomplish what they set out to do now - (SAVE LIVES OF CHILDREN) as they put it! I think not!!!

Whatever...but, I think most people believe that she got away with murder. The Desert Sun(Palm Springs)reported today that she is in hiding in the desert and has signed a million dollar deal to tell her "story". Maybe with the money she can have plastic surgery and change her name cause otherwise....her karma is gonna get her...eventually.

So why would a church want to be involved in a homicide case??? the media????
Sounds really stupid to me ...Maybe just maybe they should stick to teaching the gospel and leave the media to telling us how and why we should react to a case. AND THEY DO.
Next they will be holding a mock trial on Rupert Murdoch......Where were these holier than thow people when Bill Clinton told America ,that he didnt have sexual relations with that women.
If they want to take up a hobbie maybe they can feed the homless.

Obviously the church has no faith in God holding people accountable.

How can any of us say guilty or not? None of us can see that actual trial evidence, testimony, or any real facts of the case...

You have a child that child is missing for weeks, you dont report it, infact you ignore it. You are guilty of SOMETHING are you not? Or should we let it ride due to lack of evidence, lol.

I agree with you that she's guilty of something, possibly of the murder but the fact is, there isn't much evidence.

And like IfIonlyknew wrote, that is the way it works.

sounding anything but sure. The jurors said they did NOT believe the forensic evidence, particularly the "smell" evidence, www.christianlouboutinuk.us which is not proven science. They went point by point through the prosecutions assertions, and didn't find merit with any of them. Why are so many people so sure that they KNOW that she's guilty??

Too many people mistake their feeling for the factual reality. If feelings and facts collide, many people go with their feelings.

We are not to judge but yet for some reason you all seem to think the jury that JUDGED did the right thing. But, the rest of the world has no right to do exactly what that jury did. The only differnce is the majoirty of the world got it right. When the jury did this I believe with all intentions of making off of it. But, that doesn't matter only that we judge. That's our system isn't it to judge by a jury of your piers well guess what we are a very large jury of her piers and we decide she is guilty. Though I don't believe in the death penatly myself I believe that she should have never been outside of the prison walls. Cause, yes there are thousands and thousands of children that go missing every day and I care about each and everyone of them. But, now I have to care about each and everyone of them living next to her or that she may have another child and do it again. Judge that!!

What is with these people? Or some of the commenters, for that matter. I just watched a show where they analyzed the trial, and talked to the jurors and the prosecutor. The two alternate jurors also said they would have voted not guilty, and some of the jurors said not only not guilty, but that they thought she was innocent. Even the prosecutor, when asked if he thought Casey did it, hesitated for a few seconds before answering "yes...........yes, I think she did," sounding anything but sure. The jurors said they did NOT believe the forensic evidence, particularly the "smell" evidence, which is not proven science. They went point by point through the prosecutions assertions, and didn't find merit with any of them. Why are so many people so sure that they KNOW that she's guilty?? When people who really DO know all the evidence, think she's not guilty, or at the least that it was not proven?
