Dylan Lauren's Ralph Lauren Wedding Dress Unveiled In Vogue (PHOTO)

Although her wedding to hedge fund founder Paul Arrouet took place weeks ago, Dylan Lauren has finally given the world a peek at the dress designed for her by dad, Ralph.

Dylan poses for the August issue of Vogue, in which Andre Leon Talley chronicles every last detail of her nuptials, down to the bride's nine-foot, tiered train.

A few details about the dress were made known before the wedding, including that Ralph consulted Vera Wang for help on the design, as the Daily News reported.

More revealing was a much-watched interview with Oprah, where Ralph opened up about the design process and told the TV host, "I had to do something that was better than ever before....When you do something for your family or your daughter, I mean it's the only daughter I have -- beautiful girl. I want to just give her something that she'd really treasure and give her something that would be really amazing. I want her to feel fantastic."

Dylan agreed, saying, "It's really beautiful. I know that every bit of his energy and heart went into making sure that I liked it."

Now, the silk tulle-and-duchess satin dress with the mermaid hem is revealed in the pages of Vogue's "Age Issue," in which Dylan represents women in their 30s.

Andre Leon Talley's accompanying profile focuses largely on the 37-year-old's professional life as the owner of Dylan's Candy Bar but does not neglect juicy wedding day details, including the high-profile guests (Martha Stewart and Bruce Weber among them) and bridesmaids get-ups (dresses in Candy Bar-logo colors with optional, custom-made Spanx).

I also watched the Oprah interview w/ the Lauren family.Pretty bride, but I saw in the interview that he allowed the ladies of the family ( wife and daughter) have thier input on the designing of the dress.Well in my opinion he should'nt have.That dress is so hideous it is laughable.Too many cooks spoil the dress in this instance.They should have let the genious at his work.The straps cheapen it and the lower part looks like remnants from Big Bird.But hey, it got me to look up the dress and comment on it.

A little overdone for my taste. The bride should be the center of attention and I think this dress jumps the shark. I am surprised at Ralph because his stuff is generally understated elegance.

What is wonderful about this dress is two-fold: it pays homage to the aesthetic of Ralph Lauren while at the same time breaking free of it with divinely gossamer fabric and incredibly well worked detail more in line with what Wang might do.
A loving gift to his daughter.

Oprah's interview with Ralph Lauren was only one of three I saved on my TV recorder. What a loving family, they support one another, care about one another, and had a most beautiful ranch in Colorado. I hope his daughter is very happy, the gown looks great on her.

Wouldn't give it a second look. The top -- ruffle and spaghetti strap? The bottom? Too much dragging bulk. I've seen so much better out of Ralph.

Its a girls dream day. A magical wedding, a most spectacular dress and the man she loves to share the day with. I think the dress is beautiful in every way, mostly cause daddy helped design it. Makes it just that much more special. But that is my opinion, which I am entitled to, as are the nay sayers on here. But I just think they are jealous. Kudos to you Mr. Lauren for making your daughters day more special.
