Neil Patrick Harris put a lot of thought into naming his twins with partner David Burtka and Monday evening he sat with Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show,” dishing, just a little bit, about how it all went down.
Harris explained that he and his partner wanted something “easy to spell” and a name that “wouldn’t define” their babies. The pair announced they were expecting a baby boy and girl, in August of last year via Twitter and used the same 140 character outlet to announce that Gideon Scott and Harper Grace had arrived on October 10, 2010., receiving rather unique and relatively uncommon names.
But not for too long, looks like there is a new Harper on the block. Victoria and David Beckham welcomed a little girl on July 11, and they too used social media to reveal their little lady’s title. David hit Facebook, announcing “Am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”
Harris commented on the super posh pair choosing his daughter’s name, “Once the Beckham’s have a kid that’s got your name, then it’s really cool all of the sudden.” He then added, “Now we just have to have the Pitt-Jolie’s name their next kid Gideon, and we’re in.”
