Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has filed a lawsuit against Champion, seeking more than $1 million after the company ended its endorsement contract in May following his controversial tweets upon the death of terrorist Osama bin Laden.

"This case involves the core question of whether an athlete employed as a celebrity endorser loses the right to express opinions simply because the company whose products he endorses might disagree with some (but not all) of those opinions," the lawsuit reads, according to reports.

Champion feels highly embarrassed that they handed a large endorsement to someone with the brainwave activity of someone whose bell has apparently been rung more than the local church.
