'The Hunger Games' Motion Poster Revealed (PHOTO)

First Posted: 07/19/11 02:06 PM ET Updated: 09/18/11 06:12 AM ET

Now that "Harry Potter" has finally dropped the curtain on its big screen saga, it's time for another hit fantasy book series to take the stage (okay, aside from "Twilight"). That's where "The Hunger Games" comes in.

The books, authored by Suzanne Collins, are worldwide bestsellers, and have already begun their transition from written word to blockbuster film saga. And unlike the Potter or Twilight series, this planned trilogy already has a superstar cast line up.

Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence is the lead, heroine Katniss Everdeen, while Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will play teen warriors Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively. Elizabeth Banks will play guide Effie Trinket, while Woody Harrelson is Haymitch, Katniss's mentor.

While there's no trailer or even little clip out yet, the producers, Lionsgate Film, at least provided this juicy motion poster, conveying the seriousness and, hopefully, epic nature of the films.

I think they should put all the violence in it, i mean like read the book, i'm just saying, i don't wanna a non-violence love story kind of thing like Twilight. Kids can't see the violence? but i'm this isn't a kids book and kids need to understand we live in a violent world, i hope this movie will be amazing, don't screw it up Lionsgate =P (I'm not looking for bad comments, this is my opinion) and i read all the books, they were great.

I don't think they can make the movie's be anywhere near as gory as the books are. For one thing some scenes would require an R rating, which takes the movies away from it's core audience, which are teens. I think the right approach would be the suggestion of violence, without actually showing it.

If they want to make any money then they have to put the PG-13 rating, but for it do it any justice there needs to be an R rating. I just hope they dont screw it up by watering it down.

I love Harry Potter, and I also love this book trilogy. In fact, I'd have to say it was the first series after Harry Potter that I loved.

I enjoyed the books so much! The cast seems to be great. I really hope they don't mess up this movie like the Twilight Movies. I also hope they don't "pretty it up" in order to make it less violent. These books are dark and scary-not typical teen fantasy novels. The movie should be like that too.

Anyone who claims to have read the first book and liked it, then switches series is lying, and hasn't read the first book. Nice try Potter fan.

That's funny. I'm not a big reader, but I burned through all three books in a week and a half. So, yeah, you're right. Why switch?

Donald Sunderland as President Snow. Great choice, and I think Jennifer Lawrence is the single best young actress working today. Can't wait for this movie!! I really liked Harry Potter, I loved Ender's Game, I adore The Hunger Games.

I really hope they do the book justice and don't shy away from the violence, as awful as it is.

I am so excited for this movie and i'm actually happy with the people being cast. Woody Harrelson is going to make a great drunk, and from the EW pictures Jennifer Lawrence looks great as Katniss. I'm little iffy on Liam Hemsworth as Gale but i think he can pull it off.
