Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried 'In Time': Still Photos From New Movie (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 07/21/11 10:37 AM ET Updated: 09/20/11 06:12 AM ET

Justin Timberlake has a lot of weapons at his disposal. He used one of them with Mila Kunis, and now, he'll fire away in a whole different manner with Amanda Seyfried.

The "Friends With Benefits" star will next take on the Andrew Niccols-written and directed, "In Time," a sci-fi action thriller about a world in which aging has been halted -- if you've got the cash. The rich buy and trade the world's new currency, time itself, in order to live forever, while the poor die at the hands of their robbed clocks. Timberlake will play a young man without the wealth to live forever who inherits the cash for the opportunity from a rich upper class man.

Accused of murder -- forbid the poor luck out sometimes -- Timberlake's character goes on the run, taking Seyfried's hostage. Spoiler alert: they fall in love amidst all the action and life risking.

The film, which boasts a big cast that includes Cillian Muphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde, and Matthew Bomer, hits theaters on October 28th.

I really liked Gattaca so I have high hopes for this movie, though I'm somewhat indifferent to Justin Timberlake as an actor, and would have much preferred to see Matt Bomer in the lead role.

He's growing as an actor. This could be fun.

However, I would like to hear some new music from him.

I suffered through the boy band era like everyone else and I scoffed at the idea of a Timberlake "solo career" until he released a whole bunch of really good pop songs.

I scoffed at the notion of him leveraging his teen celebrity into any kind of Hollywood career until he made those digital shorts and hosted SNL and held the screen with real actors in Social Network.

I am now scoffing at the idea of Justin Timberlake action hero.

I think my track record speaks for itself.

"real actors in Social Network"

Please list.

JT is a Disney-created, corporate-hypedhack.

Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield are two of the best under 30 actors around.

How did this guy get into a movie?? He's terrible!!! Just stick to singing and SNL please.

JT is gonna be at Comic Con SD - I hope they have some cool props or a clip from the movie. He's awesome on SNL, it could be cool to see him as an sci-fi/action star.

Whoever wrote this article needs to explain this sentence to me: "Accused of murder -- forbid the poor luck out sometimes -- Timberlake's character goes on the run, taking Seyfried's hostage." I read it ten times and I still couldn't understand it.

Justin Timberlake was the ONLY bright spot in the absolutely horrid "Bad Teacher" of recent release. I am now a true fan. As far a Amanda goes, loved her recently in a straight to DVD drama called "Chloe"--a remake of the French "Nathalie". Between those two this will be a MUST SEE for me!
