PayScale's Party Schools With The Highest Mid-Career Salaries

First Posted: 07/22/11 09:51 AM ET   Updated: 09/21/11 06:12 AM ET

Who says that having fun in college won't get you a high-paying job in the end?

The salary website PayScale surveyed 1,003 colleges and ranked them for the highest mid-year career salary. Then, they measured those numbers against the Princeton Review's party school rankings, coming up with a list of party schools that pay.

Check out a slide show of the top ten party schools that pay. Then tell us what you think in the comments section.

To be fair, not everybody at a party school parties. At the University of Texas at least 30% of the people there are nerds who went to UT thinking they'd be partying. They're the ones pulling up those average salaries come graduation.

Now that they are partying, what about the education they are supposed administer? And the education loan companies, bet they are also partying.

The head line was misleading, Party schools? Of course when reading about the salaries the staffs draw, I can see why they would party. But the student bodies are facing tuition increases and other costs and the increase of fees . . . hell yes, its party time for the staff of those colleges.

Every ivy league college, stop hiring drunken whorish idiots from those schools! Entitlement children is all they are. These schools have a grip on our presidency and government and look where it has gotten us. Obama is no different, but of course we can't see his records (including how he got in and PAID) and should not be satisfied with any thing he "learned" there.

Is there a reason the picture chosen for U of I is of Kappa Sigma, one of the campus fraternities? All the other schools seem to have pictures of academic buildings...
01:10 PM on 07/25/2011
Yes, because while in school the members of this fraternity were both the biggest partiers and had the best grades. Statistics show that they are also now outearning their alumni peers by such a significant margin that it would have been misleading to *not* have featured the fraternity house as the representative photo for UIUC.
12:01 PM on 07/29/2011
That's actually completely inaccurate, as the Kappa Sigmas of Illinois aren't frequent partiers, are rather strange, and aren't known to be gentlemen.

The most likely reason I can think of is that UIUC has the greatest number of Greek students in the nation, with 25 sororities and 46 fraternities. So in fact, this photo is representative of the university.

At DPU, our official school song is actually a drunken dirge: "A Toast to Old DePauw." Also, Otis Day and the Knights played "Shout" at an actual toga party when I was there.
