Steven Soderbergh's 'Haywire': Director Releases Second Trailer In Two Weeks At Comic-Con

Soderbergh Releases 'Haywire' Trailer: Better Than 'Contagion'?

Steven Soderbergh certainly knows how to create a buzz. Just last week, he released the trailer for his upcoming sci-fi/bird flu thriller "Contagion," which left us a little wanting. But not to worry -- if you didn't like the looks of that trailer, he's tossing us another one and seeing if it sticks. At Comic-Con on Friday, the director upped the ante with "Haywire," an action film set for release Jan. 20, 2012.

Gina Carano, actress and mixed martial arts fighter extraordinaire, stars as a black ops soldier who seeks revenge after she is set up, to die it seems. The film also stars Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, Channing Tatum, Bill Paxton and Antonio Banderas. It's too ambiguous to say what their roles are ("good" or "bad") based off the trailer -- Carano owns it as the lone woman among men trying to thwart her. Anything that involves a woman betrayed kicking ass is as close as we'll ever get to "Alias" again, so needless to say, "Haywire" gets our vote in this Soderbergh vs. Soderbergh trailer showdown.
