Shortly after it was announced that Amy Winehouse was found dead in her North London home, devoted fans of the wildly talented, troubled singer flocked to the scene to pay their respects.

Sky News reports that hundreds had shown up at the home by mid-day Saturday as tributes from around, including flowers, cards and artwork, were set up in remembrance.

She has finally experienced the ULTIMATE "high".
A talented albeit troubled lady who can now, rest in peace.
God bless her family during what must be such a devastating time.

I was never a fan, but remember listeneing to her cd for the first time about 2 years ago, and I thought, "wow, this is good!" I do believe a great talent was lost. No matter how she died, she will be missed.

good to see the brits don't desecrate their makeshift memorials with stuffed animals and other mawkish trinkets.

Amy Winehouse was a lost girl, but had a lot of talent. I think the Back to Black album is brilliant. I've also listened to her cover of other songs, like "Valerie." Valerie is a wonderful song, her version of it is great. All the music insiders thought she was something special, and her passing does not change that. Here's what Quincy Jones had to say:

Quincy Jones:

"He told Rolling Stone Magazine: "She's a smart little girl. What can I say, man? Nobody sounds like her. She's been going through a lot of stuff.......But she and Mark (Ronson) came on in and they did it. She has a great voice. She's from another planet."

For those who don't like Amy Winehouse or her music and have come to this board to be disresctful or make some larger unrelated point about the world and your views, I ask that you leave this board right now. Would you be as callous if this had been your freind or family member? Would you want someone to say these things about you? If you can not have any compassion, I urge you to at least show some respect. Regardless of how she met her end, the unnatural loss of life is sad.

I completely agree. Why come to a page like this and spit on someone's grave or life. Especially when that person did no harm to you. And you're right about unrelated points. Now they're comparing her to soldiers? What does a musician and singer have to do with the military? Go over to the UK tribute pages I'm sure you won't hear any of that nonsense.

I wish she had made it. I was looking forward to what she may have come up with musically in the future had she survived. Sadly, she didn't make it. Too soon gone. Another talented individual with a hell-hound on her trail. At least she's not suffering now.

Just signed up to write this comment. I am so sorry for this lost. I wasn't a big fan of her but she was so talented. What I want to say to people who criticizes her addiction is don't do that.

Drug addiction is something that gets all your hopes, pleasures, dreams and will to live. An addictive person can't have logical decisions. And also regrest help. It's maybe the hardest thing to try to help someone, who doesn't want it. Or insist on not getting it.

If you ask me, people around the addictives should insist more and do anything to help them.

When I watched her last show video, all I could tell was "I wish I was her closed friend and do my best to get her out of this bad mood and unhappiness."

Please be sensitive people. That's the biggest gem we should be carrying in our souls as human beings.

WE ALL have downfalls, struggles, addictions, ways we hurt ourselves, things we should let go of. Me too. I pray we all overcome, not succumb - R.I.P Amy Whinehouse

Maybe some of you that have posted comments on this page should read that quote over, and over until you UNDERSTAND it. Thank you, drive through.

First off I'd like to say what a shame she passed so young. She was so talented, and an inspiration to so many.

On another note, I'm not sure why people are leaving booze in her memory, considering its probably the thing that killed her...
09:57 PM on 07/24/2011
That's why they're leaving it. Along with the cigarettes and I wouldn't be surprised if someone left a crack pipe or syringe. They're paying tribute to her lifestyle as much as her life.
10:11 PM on 07/24/2011
Um ~ you're missing my point. It isn't so much a "lifestyle" it is a disease, hence her trying to kick the habit by attending rehab. She obviously wanted to stop but the addiction over came her.

And I don't think it's paying tribute, I think it's adding fuel to the fire and it's sad!

What a waste of a talented individual! Where were those who loved her, yet allowed her to self-destruct?
