Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski sharply disagreed on Monday's "Morning Joe" about President Obama's handling of the Elizabeth Warren nomination.

Obama chose Richard Cordray as his first nominee to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau--passing over Warren, even though the consumer watchdog was her idea. On Monday, Brzezinski read an op-ed harshly criticizing the Republicans for their opposition to Warren--who has been a regular guest on "Morning Joe."

"They basically do not want the bureau to function," she said. "Does anyone disagree?"

"I don't think Wall Street wants it to function," Scarborough said. "I don't think business interests want it to function." He then turned his sights on Obama, saying he had caved to Wall Street by not choosing Warren.

"It's good to see that, as always, the President stands up and fights for the person he believes in," he said. "It's not like he gained anything from Wall Street by throwing Elizabeth under the bus. Oh, wait a minute, yes he did."

"It's called the art of the possible," Brzezinski shot back.

Watch the video above.

Joe is absolutely right. Obama threw Warren under the bus. He's caved in on everything going back to the Health care bill. He didn't fight for the public option. He didn't fight for any of it. He caved on repealing the Bush Tax Cuts. He caved in on Gitmo. He caved in on holding trials in civilian settings, and he finally caved in on revenue increases during the debt ceiling debate. For the past 2.5 years he let the congressional democrats do all the fighting while he sat around and looked good signing the legislation into law. Will a democrat please tell me what this man stands for other than pandering to the left and right to get re-elected, Anyone?.
Just one more thing. Mika has no business debating Joe Scarborough. She has no clue about politics and how it works. He's been in congress for 8 years and is an attorney. She better suited to hosting the View or some variety show.

“BREAKING NEWS-Exclusive to the Huffington Post
MSNBC to add new co-host to “Morning Joeâ€
By Jason Beardedclam
An MSNBC spokesperson announced today that the “Morning Joe†show was adding Spuds MacKenzie III to their lineup effective tomorrow. MacKenzie III is the grandson of the legendary Spuds MacKenzie, the boozing and womanizing Anheuser-Busch “Party Animal†in the late 1980s. He will take over the role currently filled by Mika Brzezenski, who will remain on the show in a minor capacity. “Mika will act as Spuds’ handler and translatorâ€, the spokesperson explained, “Sort of like the girls in the original Spuds MacKenzie commercialsâ€. In addition, Anheuser-Busch will assume sponsorship of the show, which will be renamed “Morning Budâ€. A snippet from the Doors’ "Roadhouse Blues" will be used as the new theme song (“Woke up this morning and I got myself a beer. The future’s uncertain and the end is always nearâ€). “We think the new format strikes a great balance between serious news and humor†said the spokesperson.â€

One out of every eight dollars the Obama campaign has gotten this election cycle has been from the finance and insurance sector. His bundlers from 2008 all work for him now, and his bundlers now all work for Wall Street. The whole thing is a trick.

boogie albert 55,
11 people died in the Horizon oil spill. It was our worst oil disaster in our history. Only NEW DEEP water drilling permits were halted while scientists tried to figure out why it happened and how to prevent it. All existing deep water drilling continued as did every other kind of oil drilling here. It was dishonest regulators who had ben warned that it was going to blow who kept giving the site a pass. China and Saudi Arabia are the largest producers of solar panels in the world because republicans don't want to invest in it, infrastructure, high speed rail or anything other than dirty fossil fuels. Soros made his money here and lives here. Instead of fantasizing about his anti Americanism or Obama's- look at Scott Walker. He has closed DMV's where people could get the picture id's he's demanding for the recalls in August and redistricting to suppress voters exercising their right to recall. It's the most anti American Koch brother funded atrocity I've ever seen.

Warren, herself, agreed that it would not be in the interest of anyone if she were appointed. SHE said her approval would be held up. "The Party of No" would have dragged this out forever thus leaving the seat empty. There wasn't any question about that.

I think he was keeping an eye open for "False News"...but now he'd better be careful with the Murdock problems that are being investigated. FN's days could be numbered.

It isn't his politics that causes me to not watch..it is that he is not a good listener, has to go on and on about himself and when he was in Congress and has just an awful twangy voice quality! He turns everything in to focus on him....Cable has become all about the people doing the shows and not news at all. Just a bunch of 24/7 ego

I gave up on this show also. What kept me watching was that the show really was unpredictable and occasionally a strong voice would school Joe on reality (Mika's father).

But it's a long show so I'd rather not subject myself to it any longer. I get the feeling it's why MSNBC is in great decline now, causing many of us to look for alternatives. It just is informative to watch the same establishment media stars, far removed from the trials and tribulations of the former middle class compliment each other on what they're wearing on any given day.

"What kept me watching was that the show really was unpredictable and occasionally a strong voice would school Joe on reality (Mika's father)."

Regarding your statement above --- that is exactly why I watch - and occasionally there are some other guests that are interesting. Most of the time, however, there are people who KNOW they have to be in agreement with Joe on some of the issues...or else..no more invites. I used to like Harold Ford - but he's a sad case; here's a bright man who is afraid to disagree - I feel embarrassed FOR him.

Mika's Dad was on just on the other day again -- he IS brilliant and I learn a lot from him.

Joe Scarborough is a washed up politician so his made up career is calling himself a journalist.

But he still thinks he can run and win.
In his mind he was a leader.
He needs to go to a high school reunion or something to knock him down a few pegs.
He is a has been that never was.

Mika's no Rachel for sure but she's certainly not confused. Yes, I wish she would speak up more and forcefully present the Liberal cause.

Because Joe outtalks her --- talks OVER her.... tells her when to be quiet... It's a strage situation.... It doesn't even look right.

The show is so much better when Mika takes a segment off..watching this morning the discussion on the debt ceiling negotiations between Joe, Buchanan, Ford and Brown was great to hear intelligent explanations and positions without Mika' s incessantly biased comments and silly smirks and looks. Let her read the news and keep her out of political discussions...the show is so much better without her. She reads he news well..stick to what she can do well...slightly off the political topic, but relevant to the show...

The added benefit is keeping her dad off the show as well..like we need anyone from the Carter administration giving us advice on anything..we have Carter II underway right now...

I agree with letting a person have their own opinion but that's not your opinion--it's the Repug/bagger talking points spoon-fed to you from World Net Daily or FOX News or some such.

On top of everything else, Obama has no nads. Even if Warren was going to be rejected, she deserved a hearing on it. She has quite a bit of knowledge concerning the abuses heaped on consumers by credit card companies and banks. Regardless if they thought she was bad for business, publicly voting against a woman who seems to be a crusader for the people might not be so easy to defend come election time.

Sounds like a issue that could be resolved by Obamas private cabinet, "the czars".
