A 21-year-old woman remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was shot early Sunday morning while standing outside a party in the Mission District.
Police said that the woman was standing outside at 25th and Folsom streets at about 2:30 a.m. when gunfire erupted, hitting her in the back. Her friends at the party drove her to San Francisco General Hospital with critical injuries.
Police say they do not know if it is gang related or whether the woman was the target.
"Nobody saw it, they only heard the gunshots," Officer Albie Esparza told us this morning.
An hour before, two passengers riding Muni were shot. The rider boarded the bus at Arleta and San Bruno avenues at around 1:15 a.m. The suspect -- a black man -- got onto the bus where he shot the two victims, one in the hand and one in the neck. Both were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to media outlets.
On Friday, an 11-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet in the Western Addition. Police told reporters they have made two arrests in the shooting incident.
