Shala Monroque's Edgy, Art-Inspired Garb (PHOTOS, POLL)

Looking through pictures of Shala Monroque, former Editor-at-Large at Pop magazine, we were struck by her tough-to-classify style. It's a melange of classic, current, edgy, feminine and artful...that's left us with a serious case of closet envy.

Born in St. Lucia, the fashion consultant and writer, who turns one year older on Monday, cites Prada as her favorite designer, frequently donning head-to-toe looks from the fashion house and its secondary line, Miu Miu. For Shala, fashion and style are more about the confidence one exudes when wearing a look as opposed to the physical nature of the clothing itself. Perhaps that's why she can pull off some of the most intricate Rodarte looks with unmatched ease.

Great style! There are a lot of fresh ideas in those photos. I'm going to be a bit more creative with my style which is sort of sophisticated hippie.

Shala is the definition of style. I noticed she dons ton of Rodarte and Prada, and pulls it off wonderfully, especially Rodarte. Their stuff is hard to wear, and quite expensive. The gray/greenish mini dress retails at 10K if im not mistaken.

Im particulary fond of the beach imprinted Prada mini dress. It compliments her skin tone amazingly.

Some of these clothes are really ugly. In the first picture she looks like a little girl dressed in her mother's clothes, but I'm not an expert on fashion , so what do I know.

What I like about this woman is that she is definitely High Fashion... but she doesn't seem FAKE....

Her teeth are not Unusually White....or absolutely straigh
Her skin is not beyond human perfection......
He clothes Suit her...  and maybe not many other folks....

She a 4 Real Real Woman.
