First, President Obama has had more people with illegal resident status deported than President Bush did, so anyone saying he's doing nothing, or not doing enough, about the situation is wrong.

Second, the Supreme Court made it very clear many years ago that all children, regardless of legal resident status, have a right to a free public education in this country. If the legislators of Alabama don't like it, they can go to the Supreme Court and try to get it changed. They shouldn't put school staff in the position of having to do their dirty work for them.

Third, false documents are easy to make and buy, and schools accept paperwork as written since no district has the resources to verify sbumitted paperwork.

Fourth, this ridiculous law will do nothing about identifying those with illegal residence status, but it will be a boon for those who know how to create false documents, so this law has the very real potential to increase that illegal activity. Way to go, Alabama!

I thought, in order to even register a student to school, you need to produce a birth certificate,
a home address. and a proof they are inoculated for shots

How many employers are currently in jail, nation-wide, for hiring illegals?

Any? One? Less than a dozen?

Does anyone think the GOP cares if the education system suffers?

Just another example that this Administration has no desire to solve the illegal immigrant problem. How about stop solving the symptom...which is cutting off funding...and solve the PROBLEM which are illegals.

Nope, the problem is the people who lure the illegals here. Stop them and illegals wont come here anymore.

I am certain that they want it to suffer. The more people graduate smarter the more Democrats grow. So they figure that if they dummy down America they can keep what small parsal of the voting block they can via the wealthy, private school droned kids. What do they care if Public Schools fail. None of their kids go to them. Ask your representatives to the GOP where do your kids go to school at? I will tell you my Governers kids are in Private school while he hacks away at Public school funding , teachers, and credible curriculum.
