Ed Henry Accused Of 'Creating A Thing For Fox' By Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary (VIDEO)

First Posted: 07/27/11 04:19 PM ET Updated: 09/26/11 06:12 AM ET

Ed Henry might be finding his new job as White House correspondent for Fox News a little difficult, since he's been called out by Press Secretary Jay Carney for two days in a row.

The first sparring match between the two came on Tuesday, when Henry asked why a so-called "Obama plan" about the debt ceiling had not been officially released to the public.

"I understand that idea that there is not an Obama plan is like point number one on the talking points issued by the Republican Party," Carney said.

"It's not a talking point," Henry said. "That's unfair. Where is the plan?" The two went back and forth for minutes more, with Henry also asking if there would be a "depression" if the debt ceiling was not lifted by August 2nd.

"You should go on the air and tell your viewers there's nothing to worry about," Carney replied.

But the more heated exchange came on Wednesday, when Henry raised the idea of an "Obama plan" again. He asked why such a plan had not been introduced by a Senator and scored by the Congressional Budget Office.

"I know you're creating a thing here for Fox," Carney said testily.

"That's not what I'm doing," Henry said as the rest of the room started murmuring. "And you know better than that."

"Somebody from Fox sat in a room with senior White House officials and got more detail on the President's proposal...than you could name me now that is in any of the proposals by House Republicans, and you know it," Carney fired back.

Okay let's clarify a few things Ed's question didn't make sense really. The President doesn't make the plans to be voted on by Congress, Congress does. The President is not part of, nor does he have control of the Legislative branch. To those trying to argue that this is actually a budget issue and the President is going to present a budget, it isn't. This is not a budget issue the budget was already  Read More...

The link to this article said something along the lines of, "White House secretary smacks down Fox News reporter". If you were to flip the perceived political affiliations of these two individuals the headline would read, "Conservative White House Secretary avoids question and harasses reporter". Either way this "incident" is not news worthy.

It just goes to show you how childish this administration is. The WH press secretary lost his cool because he was asked a legitimate uncomfortable pointed question that was hard to answer. This white house is used to answering questions posed by a cheerleading Left Wing News Media.

Sorry to bust your bubble but Fox is fair and balanced. I use to watch CNN, MSNBC and FOX but during the election going between them I noticed that CNN and MSNBC leaned very far to the left while FOX while somewhat to the right was far more balanced in who they had on and their reporting. Those of you who have gone along with the far left "Sheeple" and only watch CNN or MSNBC have no way of knowing. You have to watch it for several days and if you are open minded you will see I am correct. More and more people switch over to FOX because they too see they can get the news and not just the liberal hype. Oh, and in case you think I am a far right supporter I am an Independent who to leaned to the left. The more the Huffington Post huffs and puffs to bring down FOX the more FOX adds viewers.

Wouldn't trust your judgment about ANYTHING. Your precious "news" organization constantly makes things up.

LOL and MSNBC and CNN DON'T????? Seek help for your liberal blindness. Fox leans somewhat to the right but the others are in Obama's lap.

A guy that probably has been to South America, Africa, Iraq, India, Vietnam...oh wait that would be me and he is pretty much right.
I spent a LARGE amount of time in Iraq...you wanna talk about walking back into the dark ages brotha.....go spend some time there and you'll see what "third world" means.......Sadaam left those people to their own devices......gutters in the middle of the road equated to dumping your morning "pleasantries". Mud homes which families of 10 or more lived in...usually single rooms, most people cooked outside, Electricity...I saw guys using speaker wire and connecting it to power lines so they could have a light bulb in a mud home.....Americans have no clue how "lucky and nice" we have it.

Fox is real news to too many people. To dismiss it and to try to ignore it is to allow it to continue its propaganda agenda with impunity. They need to be faced and called on every prevarication and misrepresentation until they lose credibility. Carney did a stellar job and we need to see more of this.

Really? So just because a news agency questions the president it isn't "real"? Have you actually watched the whole conversation between Ed and Carney?.....This edited version from the Huffingtonpost doesn't make you say "hmmmm...I should investigate"?
If you watch the who UNEDITED version...you'll see the grumbling from the ENTIRE press room about Carney's responce. AND....AND ....if you watch CHUCK TODD of the LIBERAL news agency MSNBC even asked Carney to answer eds question.....open your eyes....here is the Unedited versionâ™ ....watch at about 2 min 40 sec....Chuck todd is VERY LIBERAL is asking EXACTLY what Ed asked....here is the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cqmMhzybek

You have no idea what "stellar job" is until u see the real truth and whole conversation. Even listen to the end ...a woman even asks after Chuck Todd and he pulls B.S. with her.

Now news reporters are the news! There is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by congress. The debt ceiling will be raised, the questions are:

1. How much will it be raised?
2. What will be the quid pro quo?

If Obama had any leverage to dictate terms he should have, exercised that leverage much sooner. He currently looks like a bystander to the discussions, not leading them.

SPEAKS VOLUMES!!.....he is a bystander because he doesn't want people to weigh in on what he thinks should be cut....elections are too close for that....obviously more important to him than the country....

It's ABOUT TIME they treat Fox "News" for what it IS: an arm of the Republican Party and nothing more. I cannot believe Ed Helms, a guy I used to have some respect for, joined that nightmare of a manipulation posing as a news organization. He should be ashamed.

It's not an arm of the Republican party, it's the nerve center. Rupert Murdoch* and Roger Ailes are the masterminds of a diabolically clever right wing propaganda effort. It is insidious and is poisoning our society.

*May he be brought down finally for his cheating, despicable ways.

Can't forget the Koch's, Rove, Norquist and Armey. That doesn't even count the pundits and personalities, like Will, Erickson, Ingraham, Krauthammer, Limbaugh, Beck, Morris and other cast of characters.

How interesting, I heard of President Obama's plan, large budget cuts along with revenue increases. If I know about it why didn't Ed Henry, White House correspondent for Fox News?

Or is this just further proof that Fake News does not pay any attention to President Obama, they just make things up?

Faux has lots of inept, incompetent and unethical journalists, reporters and on-air personalities in their stable. He probably didn't know about it because his bosses hadn't told him or given him his direct orders.

Problem is, it doesn't matter what FOX tells their viewers at this point. If FOX were to become remotely rational, remotely truthful, their viewers would only tune them out. The monster created by right wing conservatives and a happy, obliging FOX media has now passed the point of reason, period.
