The 10 Commandments Of College Dating

As a college grad, seeing the words "college" and "dating" together in one sentence almost seems like an oxymoron. The [sad] truth is that in a college environment, traditional dating is very far from the norm. As we all know, dating culture in college = hooking up. There are still plenty of romantic hopefuls, though, who prefer to tread the traditional waters. Whether in college or not, everyone could always use a little guidance when it comes to the dating game. (And now that the new school year is quickly approaching, I'm sure a few of you undergrads are getting the jitters about picking up the pace again with that college boyfriend of yours!)

So in light of these back to school jitters, I present to you the 1o Commandments of College Dating...

As a college student, i think its sad how low women's standards and expectations have sunk. They have deluded themselves into thinking its alright to hook up with random guys, and that such behavior is akin to romantic courtship. They aspire to sleeping with multiple hot frat guys while being highly intoxicated (just short of incapacitated). They think they can hook up with as many guys as they want, without having to admit to the fact that they are certifiably promiscuous. A lot (not all) of girls in college these days have lost theconcept of self control, self awareness, and integrity. The "playboy" culture perpetuated by the college age men, who have a serious lack of respect for young women, is also a serious problem. Its a contest among the boys to see who can take advantage of the most women, and apparently the women are too blind to notice and are more than willing to indulge the boys in their jackrabbit mating habits.
The point being, is that women need to open their eyes and realize that self control and being reserved are invaluable qualities, and that years of promiscuity will stain the rest of their lives, whether or not they like it.
And what the men need to realize is that they need to be more respectful of girls. Yes, girls are often lacking in self awareness and don't realize others sinister intentions, but that doesn't make it alright to take advantage of that weakness at every opportunity.

As an engineering major, I'd like to be a convert to dating. I have neither dated or "hooked up". I just stand back and watch the social majors have their fun. Girls want to have fun in college and I can understand that engineers aren't fun. There is something innately conservative about us.
