Chad Ochocinco Traded: Patriots Acquire Receiver From Bengals

The New England Patriots have made another big splash, acquiring wide receiver Chad Ochocinco from Cincinnati after he accepted a restructured three-year contract, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bengals will receive a late draft pick in 2012 and another late pick in 2013.

Shortly after ESPN announced the trade, Ochocinco tweeted, "God is so Good."

The Patriots also traded for defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth earlier Thursday morning.

New England shipped a 2013 fifth-round draft pick to the Redskins for the two-time All-Pro.

I watched an interview with Chad on the NFL network today. He sounds like a changed man---very focused on team and not the social diversions. I hope it works for him. Still, I will support my Packers, the only community-owned team in professional sports.

In early 2008 the Bengals could have gotten a first round 2008 pick and an early round 2009 pick from Washington to trade him, but Mike Brown wouldn't because Cad had asked for the trade.

Now they've gotten a late round pick next year, and a late round the year after.
