Vogue's Grace Coddington Writing Tell-All Memoir

Grace Coddington Memoir

By SAMANTHA CRITCHELL   07/28/11 12:46 PM ET   AP

NEW YORK -- Grace Coddington's story from the front row of fashion will be told in a memoir.

The book by Vogue's creative director with be written with Vanity Fair style editor-at-large Michael Roberts, a friend and colleague.

The as-yet-untitled book will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Random House, and in the United Kingdom by Chatto and Windus, Random House announced Thursday.

In "The September Issue," the 2009 behind-the-scenes documentary about Vogue, Coddington was seen as both the right hand of editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and as the free spirit who would sometimes challenge Wintour.

The book will also cover Coddington's life as a child in England during World War II and her role in London's swinging `60s style scene, as well as her insight into the insider world of fashion.

Red heads are great lovers and friends. Her skin is pale, but I admire her for not covering up her natural Caucasian god given beautiful skin with the effects of the Sun. Her eyes are amazingly beautiful and she is smart and she is quite successful. So I do not see the point of all the hateful comments about her.

Someone should throw water on her, her hair's on fire.

Not to be cruel, but I think Hogwarts is missing a teacher.

I think mature women are beautiful, too. However, nature bequeaths us a palate that graces us as we age and I don't think bright orange is befitting to what might be her natural beauty. But maybe she is trying for a startling effect?

I love how so far there isn't a single comment about the actual substance of the article, or of the upcoming book. Just the way Grace Coddington looks. Way to keep it classy!

You would think a "creative director" would be able to create a more esthetic mug.
First rule: if you are going to wear a ton of makeup, you must include eybrows.
Second rule: if you are going to wear long, long orange hair, you must be under 18.

Third rule. If you are going for stunning, make sure it's not shockingly stunning, unless you are trying for human taser.

I just hope she doesn't put her picture on the front of her book. It would scare almost anyone shi*less.

And I though Rebekah Brooks was pale and creepy-looking...

This woman works with some of the most beautiful models in America. Why - Why does she present herself as she does? Has she no mirrors? Is she blind? Nuts???? I feel sorry for her.

With all of her contacts, don't you think that someone would advise her on hair color and style? She looks shocking.

She has natural red hair. Whats wrong, do you not like the color red? greymom I bet you are grey all over, but I'm sure she still is wild red below!

Nobody with so many wrinkles has red hair without any grey in it. It looks so unnatural, and she looks creepy with no eyebrows. Believe me, I may be grey down below but I am blond where it shows. Grey hair is Mother Nature telling you to lighten your hair around your face.

I've been wanting to know more about her perspective ever since liking her in "The September Issue." I hope it turns out to be a good read.

She is indeed a woman worthy to be admired, liked and loved. But many haters here feel otherwise. They really have problems!!!!!!!!
