Hillary Clinton Looks Pretty In Pink, Pocket Square (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 07/28/11 05:35 PM ET   Updated: 09/27/11 06:12 AM ET

Take that, Tim Gunn.

Hillary Clinton made quite the feminine style statement in D.C. on Thursday, stopping by the Norwegian Embassy.

The Secretary of State accented her soft pink blazer and flat pearl necklace with a spiffy white pocket square, finishing off the look with the longer hairstyle she's favored as of late.

The ladylike ensemble should be enough to silence Tim Gunn, who recently criticized the politico for her "gender confused" fashion sense.

Take a look below.

comments on Hillary
and to make people understand from this dialog
that our standards ,used for measuring the value of people,
maybe far too shallow,
to complement our intellect.
somewhere we have gone wrong, in looking for fashions[failed to learn from history or the women and men who taught us]
to dictate, what is good and bad.
yes, it may enhance somebody's external appearance,
but that's a deception,
of the beholder.
Its not a absolute agreement, that what we see, what appears attractive
is what we need
or what we will respect or want ,in all the people.
men/women see immense sexual attraction, and erousal of erotic feelimgs
in others,
but never want their family, sisters, brothers, fathers ,husbands, sons ,daughters,
etc to be
seen in this way.
in fact anything very attractive and erotic in close members, evokes a very negative feeling.

contemplate
and try to arrive at ones own conclusions, and derive some acceptable answers.[many religious places, do not want women to show their body, or even shoulders. they will ban any nakedness[however attractive or erotic it maybe, at times,]
There is a time and a place.

please read and re read this comment,
try to learn how shallow we can be
if we look at women, our greatest source of strength,
in this manner.[I am sure the writer was making a point, and not swayed by this idea]
they maybe not totally perfect,
but in matters of concern, they are near perfection.

Cannot agree with you more.
Many males are still to emerge from the pre Victorian,[sexually illiterate, and mostly decadent era]
woman bashing era.
they have not caught up with evolution.
Has never met people like my wife, my daughter, my seven sisters
and the 1st woman Prime minister/president of the world[Mrs Bandara Nayaka.

without correcting their ignorance, ability to misunderstand women's role,
unable to accept they are always our equal in many areas,
and are superior to all others, in many situations.
the fault is not in the stars, but an inherent genetic weakness of these people
who feel they need to bash the clever ladies, which also makes them very attractive, as women, mothers, wives, sisters, cousins, neighbors, friends,
nurses, doctors etc etc.
Hope-they have the ability to creep out ,from underneath the rocks,
now that they have ,climbed down from the trees.
And learn from the billions of people
who benefited from the women,
who helped to create us,
and keep allowing us to evolve, with half their genes,
to the more advance,
more literate,
better educated,
and in fact better, all round, humans

Who cares what the lady wears? As Secretary of State, she has much more on her mind than what she's wearing.

re: Hill HAIRDO- see? she CAN look nice!
note the curl in the middle of her forehead..and remember the little poem?
"...and when she is bad she is HORRID"
Gunn got it right about her gender confusion
Remember all her buds she brought with her when she came to Washington? cigar smokin Janet Reno "Johnny" and all the rest of FOH? friends of Hillary

If Hillary seems mannish to him, does he find that attractive? This is all very confusing.

I'm laughing and at the sametime in agreement. Poor Tom, trying to be relevant instead he's utter confusion.

Gorgeous necklace.

I cannot fathom what all of this "style" garbage is about when Clinton is doing the difficult job that she is doing. I hope that she can get a good night's sleep without worrying about the problems of the world and not worry for a moment what she is going to put on in the morning. If she has a bad hair day, she should be able to grab a scrunchy without worldwide notice.

She may be used to the scrutiny and probably even laughs it off; but come on, in the whole scheme of things, what she wears is not important!

I agree. Hillary Clinton is all substance. Michele Bachmann may look good, but inside...she's scary!

no one comments about a hairless or partially baldin man,
or the wigs people wear.
It is their choice.

man or woman , makes the cloth.
The cloth does not make a Man or woman.

She looks as good as can be for her body type and age.

She works long hours. Leave her be.....
06:17 PM on 08/05/2011
maybe needs an over-correction,
she looks, acts, represents us, better than the vast majority of people, ,
men,women, older or younger.
that and her dedication, is what makes her a very beautiful, attractive person,
who also happens to be a woman, mother, wife etc.
lest we forget.

Don't knock her. She's in her 60s - not everyone can be Susan Lucci (64). Besides, she's flying around the world every other day. I'd hate for people to take photos of me on travel days!

And let's not forget, the Vogue photo shoot from when she was First Lady was lovely.
06:04 PM on 07/31/2011
I know many women in their sixties who look as if they are in their forties.
05:47 PM on 08/02/2011
And I am sure all these 60+ women you know are also smarter than Hillary and have done more with their lives. I hate to break the news to you but there really does come a time where you figure out that how you look isn't the primary point anymore. I sincerely doubt that you know all these women in their 60s that look 40 or you must know some really awful looking 40 year olds. You can look less crumpled but you sure as heck won't look 20 years younger no matter how much surgery you get. Jane Fonda doesn't look 20 years younger and neither does Susan Lucci.
06:23 PM on 08/05/2011
And vice versa

my mother at 85 looked about 20 yrs younger,
she passed away when 94,
was always one of the most beautiful persons, woman
that all of us ever had the privilege to know,
and benefit from.
never heard her commenting on the appearance or the dress or make up of any woman.
she always appreciated people, humans and all living things.
Taught all the boys, without ever having formal lessons,
and the sisters too learned ,from her.
As men we were politely informed never to argue with a lady[one fact may have been that a win was unlikely]
but it was the protocol.
if we had a complain, it had to be filtered through another senior family member,
and advice sought, in our search for an answer or a solution.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

A woman is beautiful
not to all
but those who loce and care for her.
I was married to an extraordinarilay beautiful Lady.
Knew her almost for 50 yrs.
Realized how beautiful she was ,aftr nearly 6 yrs,
took some very momorable pictures of her[caught h l when I told her about this, not so diplomatically]

never saw her any less beautiful
all theese years.
more acutely so now, as she decided to pass on, about 2 yrs ago.
still look at the pictures and memories from teenage yrs to nearly 50 yrs later,
fondly remembers her, miss her,
but she is never less beautiful.

hope this will brighten the day for many.
those who cannot comprehend,
please do not be ofended,
think it over
thee meaning shall ,gradually dawn
upon you.

ask about Hilary from the people who knew her
knew her in so many ways
they will not see
anything but beauty,
and someone to admire.

we have to learn to look
and see, beyond our limitations, they are but self induced,
can be easily corrected.

Hillary Clinton never has had a clue about fashion.

In these photos, she looks as frumpy and matronly as ever, despite all her face work. Some of it has to do with weight, hair and an ill-fitting, old-fashioned top.
05:52 PM on 07/30/2011
I love Hillary Clinton - She is amazing, extraordinarily intelligent and an admirable role model.
I wonder is anyone would describe you that way???? And, who care what she wears - it's the State Department, not a fashion runway.
06:23 PM on 07/30/2011
When this woman was practising law some years ago she was fired by her boss, a democrat, for being a dishonest, unethical lawyer and a liar (his words). That, in my view is no role model, particularly when practising law; and, again in my view, should have been the end of any aspirations of high public office for her.

i think she's lovely. she isnt the easiest body type to dress, and she needs to stay businesslike and authoritative, while being respectful of the customs of the people she is dealing with. she cant be running around dressed like heidi klum.

let us not judge,
just appreciate if we can.
