Well, this is what beer and losing will do.
During a loss to the Mets at Nationals Park on Friday, video was captured of Washington fans doing their best soccer hooligan impression in the stands.
Dan Steinberg of The Washington Post was caught off-guard by the fight, writing, "I’ve been to plenty of games at Nats Park, but never have I seen a brawl, or anything close to a brawl, or people who were really angry about much besides concession issues and Jayson Werth striking out and the excessive number of visiting fans."
The Nats fans have reason to be frustrated. Even though they're in the midst of their best season in years, the club is still below .500 and out of contention. But the future should be bright at Nationals Ballpark: Stephen Strasburg should be back on the mound next spring, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Bryce Harper made his major league debut next season.
