John Ramsey, Father Of Murdered JonBenet, Remarries

John Ramsey Remarried

First Posted: 08/01/11 04:30 PM ET Updated: 10/01/11 06:12 AM ET

John Ramsey, the father of murdered child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, remarried on July 21 to Jan Rousseaux, according to The Denver Post. Ramsey is remarrying five years after his wife, and mother of JonBenet, died of ovarian cancer, the Daily Camera reports.

Ramsey, 67, wed Rousseau, 53, a twice-divorced Las Vegas designer in Charlevoix, Mich., according to People magazine. The pair met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Denver two years ago. Ramsey spoke out to the National Enquirer speculating that his deceased daughter would be proud of him:

I have no doubt she will be smiling.

According to the Daily Camera, JonBenet was only 6-years-old when she was found dead in the basement of her boulder home over the Christmas holiday in 1996. 9News reports that JonBenet’s birthday is coming up on Aug. 6 and had she lived, she would be turning 21-years-old. Her murder remains unsolved to this day.

In 2008, DNA evidence from the JonBenet murder case positively cleared both John and Patsy Ramsey as suspects in their daughter’s murder and pointed to a third party whose DNA profile is not currently in any criminal database, according to 7News.

Westword reports that the Ramsey house in Boulder went up for sale again in Feb. 2011 -- the third time the house has been put up for sale in recent years -- for $2.3 million.

I always thought that Patsy was some how involved in Jon Benet's death. I knew her in college, and she was such a drama queen.

And that could be why they will never find any new evidence, or any evidence that can be prosecuted because Patsy is gone..

I read the book he and his wife wrote, and it seemed to me that they were innocent of killing JonBent. But. There were many aspects of her murder that seemed to implicate him...the ransom note asking for exactly the bonus he had received, the phrasing in the letter, and the fact that he called his attorney immediately after finding his daughters' body.

My personal opinion was that he had shady business dealings w/ someone who had pedophilic tendencies...the way Patsy painted up that little baby and paraded her around in costumes mad her a sitting duck for every freak out there.

I think the police were totally inept and it sickens me that her killer has never been brought to justice.

I wish Mr. Ramsey well in his new life, although I am sure there will always be a deep scar for his little girl...

You should read this book: "JonBenet", Inside The Ramsey Murder Investigation, by Steve Thomas. He was one of the leading investigators on the case in the beginning. He could no longer be a part of this crippled investigation, and he personally believes the Ramsey's were involved.

I disagree with you 100%. Patsy also knew about the amount of the bonus and there has never been anything absolutely nothing implicating him in any sort of child porn business. I believe Patsy lost it and throttled the child because she had wet her bed. Patsy was all stressed out over Chrismas since she was a perfectionist and very neurotic. The wording of the note sounds like Patsy wrote it.

I agree! Good for him and why shouldn't he remarry? He and his son need to be left alone,

Good for him. He and his wife were tried by radio pundits especially Peter Boyles on Khow. He spent months if not years denigrating and accusing the Ramseys.
I never thought the evidence pointed to them, the Colorado Springs investigator Lou Smit, of great repute, was positive they had nothing to do with it and went on record saying same before he died.

This is very good news, he deserves it, how he made it through the deaths of his beloved daughter and wife, I will never know. Good luck Mr. Ramsey, congratulations!

good for him! he deserves some happiness. firmly believe he and his wife had nothing to do with his daughters death and I think what they went thru at the hands of the police and media was bordering on criminal.

I hope he spends the rest of his years with a little happiness.

I hope he is happy and finds peace and happiness. He has lived through more than I would want to deal with and has dealt with it with class.

I agree. I was sad how his wife died, however. At least she was cleard but it was a sad time for them. I guess this will never be solved? Since then thousands of little children have been murdered. The scope of harm and death to children in this country is wide and deep. No coverage could ever come close to that which was given the JonBenet Ramsey case though.
I wish John Ramsey well and may he find the true healing that he deserves... Something his former wife didn't get...
