Cynicism can be a good thing - where it's warranted. However, for those who either willfully (or not) choose not to see the relevance of this story, pity on them! It illustrates the fact that as humans, there is a lot more that binds us together than divides us; evil ones choose to exploit the divisions, but those of good faith find a way, in spite of the average Kenyan's poverty, to bring out that goodness that is innate in the human spirit, toward their brothers. Kudos to them.

"I am my brother's keeper" does not mean I will take 100% charge of his life.
- It does mean I will consider him a tad higher on the tandem pole than an animal at an animal needing space in an SPCA shelter.
- It means I will care.

It means I care, period.
