By emphasizing its weakness, Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds are highlighting their new film's great strength.
Which is, as they put it, "Wall-to-wall d*ck jokes."
The pair star in the upcoming film, "The Change-Up," an irreverent and raunchy (okay, very raunchy) take on the old body switching movie. Bateman starts out as Dave, the lawyer and family man, while Reynolds is Mitch, the carefree soft-core porn actor. The film doesn't take itself seriously at all; the pair end up switching bodies while peeing in a fountain.
In the new promo, Reynolds says, "Body switching is a pretty stupid f*cking idea, but the movie's funny if they go they'll laugh their d*ck off."
In a sort of reverse psychology, an off-screen cameraman tells them NOT to emphasize the fact that the film nearly got an NC-17 rating -- of course, that's the draw, as is the off-color humor promised by the duo's mockery of different cultures and play on flatulence.
The film hits theaters August 5th; click here to read Jason Bateman's interview with The Huffington Post about the film.
