Karl Lagerfeld Removes His Sunglasses (PHOTO)

If this isn't the sign of the apocalypse, we don't know what is.

Karl Lagerfeld took off his sunglasses.

You heard us correctly. The Kaiser, King of the Dark Shades (Anna Wintour being the Queen, of course), was seen in Saint Tropez without his signature black sunglasses as he shopped and dined with a friend.

With his eyes exposed, we can see the Chanel designer in a way we never could before. He looks a bit older, maybe even a bit vulnerable, but definitely more human.

It is, to say the least, a jarring sight.

He shouldn't be sad because he's getting old as he's still active and creating. We're all going to get there someday so my mom keeps reminding me. In the meantime, I'd keep my dark glasses on Karl.

I read an interview with him a while back. I found his ridiculous snobbishness to be really reprehensible, boring and quite frankly, predictable.

The man IS a stylist! His wardrobe is just fine. He dresses sharp and elegantly for his age. Thank goodness he doesn't run like some of these aging me with a belly hanging out and over.
