Comedian Jon Stewart, former NBA star Karl Malone, illusionist David Blaine and Admiral Mike Mullen met with troops during a three-country USO tour.
Stewart told the BBC that he's happy to bring some humor to the troops.
"What you do is you try to distract them," Stewart said. "They know what they're facing. You just be honest about how you feel about them."
Malone was also grateful to be on the tour.
"I have many friends and family members who have served (or are currently serving) in our nation's Armed Forces," Malone said in a USO press release obtained by Desert News. "I have such a profound respect for what they do day in and day out. This USO tour is especially meaningful because of the friends I have met and I am honored to be apart of it."
