The 15 Best Dressed Techies Of Silicon Valley (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 08/05/11 05:40 PM ET   Updated: 10/04/11 06:12 AM ET

What do Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates all have in common? Usually the trio are featured on lists that rank the most influential people in tech, the wealthiest men in the world, or perhaps it's that they're the most successful college dropouts ever. But fashion trend-setters? Apparently, not. That is according to GQ, which recently published a list of the "worst-dressed men of Silicon Valley," featuring Zuckerberg, Jobs, and Gates in the top three spots... Ouch.

We realize that Silicon Valley isn't known for its fashionistas, but isn't the whole "geek" stereotype getting a little old?

To prove that well-dressed professionals do exist in America's tech capital, we decided to highlight a few Silicon Valley fashion standouts.

Tech companies in Silicon Valley have espoused the maxim that as long as you hire the smart and savvy employees, then it shouldn't matter what people wear to work. Nonetheless, it doesn't hurt to get dazzled up once in a while for a night out on the town, and these individuals from the Valley, many of whom regularly rock the jeans-and-t-shirt look, prove there's no harm in either.

Here's a look at 13 of the best dressed tech professionals in Silicon Valley. Who else should we add to the list? Let us know in the comments below.

Wow, I can't believe the volume of useless articles on this site these days. They even took World news off the top bar and put in the fluff life &style. How to make Huffingtonpost irrelevant.

I looked at the post's below and all the comments about how bad these people are dressed.

I have to say whoever wrote this I bet dress's bad like these people.

The woman either wore something I hope my date would not show up in or wore a dress that they were way to fat to wear.

The men dressed like boys, not men.

Very very sad that these people were even allowed to be photographed and then preaded as being well dressed.

It's very easy to look good if you're rich. If you shop at Goodwill, Marshall's, Ross or TJ Maxx and look good - that's real style.

Uh, how in the world did Meggie nutmeg make it on this list? She dresses like a PTA mom and the only overweight matron on the list. No, I can't stand this woman. Have you ever heard her talk? She actually turns my stomach.

Fanned. For sure. Any  way to to get these "goody two shoes symbols to quit popping up? I haven't been this aggravated since my 5th grade teacher  kept putting stickers all over my papers.

Never heard of some of these folks, despite living and working in Silicon Valley for over 40 years, and Melinda Gates doesn't live here--never has. A tiny bit of information on each of those named would help put this in context and give it some credibility.

its a lot of boomer porn. nobody else would consider Meg and Melinda and black turtleneck man fashionable. they are the most fabulous generation, and if you don't buy it they will hit you over the head with the fabulousness again and again.

For most of these photos, it seems like being "best dressed" is the ability to wear a perfectly ordinary suit.

Ms. Mayer looks fantastic in that dress, and she was the only reason I looked at the slideshow. I thought her choice of dress had a purposeful retro-graphic vibe and there would be other modern, stylish takes on geek influenced fashion here. Yawn. More typical expensive suits and dresses instead.

You need to get out more if you think she looks hot in Silicon Valley. There are plenty of women that lay her in the dust with looks in SV.

It will be nice to showcase teachers in this country. They are not paid well yet they are creative enough in putting together a nice ensemble with cheaper clothing from Target, JC Penney's, TJMaxx and other discount stores.

Since I also live and work here in Silicon Valley, if I made the salary that they do, I would be on the best dressed list too. Geeks hire a stylist or a high-end personal shopper.
