David Ortiz Angry Over RBI Reversal: Big Papi Interrupts Francona's Press Conference (VIDEO)

'Big Papi' Angrily Interrupts Press Conference

An angry David Ortiz interrupted Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona's press conference on Thursday and bombarded him with several expletives after learning that Fenway Park's official scorer had revoked an RBI that Boston's DH had notched the night before.

The play in question came in the first inning of Boston's 4-3 win over Cleveland, when Big Papi hit an opposite-field single that resulted in teammates Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Youkilis crossing home plate.

The official scorer initially awarded the hulking 35-year-old slugger a pair of RBI on the play, lifting his season total to 70. However, Fenway scorer Chaz Scoggins later ruled that Youkilis was only able to score from second base because Cleveland outfielder Austin Kearns bobbled the ball before firing it back into the infield.

"The Cleveland PR guy came over and told me their pitching coach had called him and told him that [Red Sox third base coach Tim] Bogar had put up a stop sign on Youkilis," Scoggins explained to WEEI.com. "I told him I didn't see the stop sign and I had looked immediately to see what the coach was doing and he'd waved him home. He said, 'Well, it's on tape somewhere.'"

After reviewing the replay, Scoggins decided that Bogar had intended to stop Youkilis.
