Boulder Man Cuts Throat

Jeffrey Neering, a 27-year-old Boulder man, has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly cutting the neck of Jason Chilson, a 28-year-old Denver man, who was in town visiting friends, according to The Denver Post.

The Daily Camera reports that Neering and a friend of the victim got into an altercation at popular K’s China restaurant on the hill area of Boulder around 2 a.m. on Thursday. Restaurant employees broke up the scuffle and asked all involved to leave.

Later that night, Chilson was walking with his friends when Neering allegedly jumped onto Chilson’s back and cut his throat. Bouncers from nearby bar, the Goose, broke up the fight but the attacker ran away. Police later found Neering in an apartment that he used to live in which he had broken into and spent the night, according to 7News.

Chilson was treated with some stitches at Boulder Community Hospital and already released. Neering is held at Boulder County Jail on $250,000 bail, The Daily Camera reports.

That busts the myth of cutthroats existing only inside the restaurant, setting the menu prices.

gosh, flash back to 1972 when a hill regular took justice into his own hands and assaulted a known ripoff/snitch around same location. he escaped to berkely for awhile but 1 of joe wrights (bondsman in boulder) boys tracked him down. Nobody died thank goodness. freaky when extreme violence happens in peaceful territory.

Yes, we in Boulder can't fully keep crazy people out - but at least he didn't have a concealed weapon - had it been a gun things might have turned out far worse.
