Food & Form Explored In New Photography Book 'La Figa' (NSFW PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Chef Tiberio Simone and photographer Matt Freedman collaborated on the book, La Figa, that explores the crossroads between food and sensuality, in a rather graphic way -- mostly consisting of shrouding nude models with intricately sliced pieces of fruits and vegetables. It treads a fine line between art and soft pornography, and we've selected some of the milder images for the slideshow below. In the introduction, the authors advise readers to "eat well and make love." Bon appetit?

it might be beautiful art, but you cant help but think of the thousands of children in africa that are dying of starvation at this time and how we here in the United States waste food on a daily basis, on science projects, art or just because we "can." I think we should start to grow a conscience as a species and consider there is a bigger world out there the has greater problems than our own and that we should all pitch in at least a bit. as art I commend it, but as a work of world peace... im not so sure. thats just my .02

Is that a pickle or are you just ... oh, I see. It is a pickle.

Great work though. While the juxtaposition of food and sensuality is not a new concept at all, this is an interesting and aesthetically beautiful (to me, at least) take on the theme. And suddenly I'm craving pomegranate ...
