Michael Kors & Lance LePere Getting Married

Michael Kors and longtime boyfriend Lance LePere are getting married!

Life & Style writes that the couple was spotted at City Hall in Manhattan on Wednesday, getting their marriage license. A passerby told the tabloid, "They were both very casually dressed. [Kors] was really nice and let the girls at the office take his picture."

A rep for noted designer and "Project Runway" host Kors confirmed the good news to Women's Wear Daily and Page Six, releasing the following statement on the designer's behalf: "Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together. "We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately."

Kors previously talked about his relationship with New York Magazine. From the article that ran last summer:

It was in Paris that he and LePere fell in love. They'd known each other since 1990, when LePere joined the company as an intern, but there was something about being together abroad that solidified things. "We share a certain level of taste," LePere says, "an American point of view, and I think we like to play with Americana. Over the years and the day-to-day process of dreaming together, things just naturally fell into place." They started taking their meals together at the Parisian outpost of Joe Allen. "We could have quesadillas, they had cranberry juice," Kors says. "I don't know that either of us was really accepting the French lifestyle.

The writer added that the pair has a house on Water Island, part of Fire Island, where Kors loves hosting LePere's nieces and nephews, once buying them an ice-cream maker. They also enjoy going to the theater.

It's so wonderful that Michael Kors is going to be forever with the love of his life. One of my best friends from college is getting married to a wonderful man in September in Massachusetts, where they just got a new apartment. He's thrilled and so is his future husband - and I couldn't be more happy for both of them.

Holly Cow!!! What will the expert Michael Kor wear to the wedding????? I HAVE AN IDEA....HOW ABOUT A BLACK T-SHIRT AND A BLACK BLAZER?????? Can't figure out what he is doing on the shosw. All he knows to wear is black t-shirt and black coats.

Love how defensive this article is; 2nd guessing its audience's reaction to the question of "just what on earth do these two have in common, what with their huge age disparity?"

It's the 1st time I've read a "these 2 are getting married" article that felt it had to go into detail about what their similarities were.

Why didn't it just come on out and address what we're really thinking: the relationship may have been long, but the marriage won't last. And Mr. Frenchie is gonna get a crapload of Mr. American's francs!!

they are both americans, lets see...what are their similarities (fashion industry, gay, men, love quesadillas and cranberry juice, not big into the french cuisine, 21 EFFING YEARS TOGETHER) The article wasn't defensive. Like many such articles of lovers planning to wed, it briefly talks about where they met and when....that's pretty much it.
