AOL Travel News:

When Per-Erik Jonsson went into a cardiac arrest on a RyanAir flight from the U.K. to Sweden on Sunday, all the airline staff did was offer him a sandwich.

Jonsson, 63, broke into a cold sweat and asked his wife for some water roughly one hour into the flight, Sweden's The Local reports.

Each day seems to bring another several horror stories about airlines, doesn't it? Until regulators start cracking some heads over these incidents, more of this will occur.

It is as if airlines and TSA workers are doing these things for sport; competing to see who can get away with the most outrageous act...maybe they've got some kind of monthly contest: One says, "I win, I denied a pregnant woman her insulin", another says "not so fast, I denied a heart-attack victim oxygen...gave him a sandwich instead then charged him for it", still another says "shoot, I only kicked a Black dude off the flight for being Black; guess I'm gonna have to try harder next month". Another chimes in with "I kicked a woman off for crying; that's gotta be worth second price, doesn't it?" The winner, though, has gotta go to the TSA agent that made that passenger remove an adult diaper. Yep, that's one for the record books and the winner is probably enjoying an all-expenses paid vacation as a reward.

Yep nothing would suprise me with this cowboy outfit. Some years ago they refused to board my 82 year old mother on an inter UK flight from Liverpool to Belfast because she did not have a passport. She did have two photograhic identity cards with her and had used these forms of ID to travel with them to get to Liverpool two days previously.
I sent them numerous emails complaining but to date I'm still waiting on a reply.

Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain Oveur: I can't tell.
Rumack: You can tell me. I'm a doctor.
Captain Oveur: No. I mean I'm just not sure.
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?

They only fly in Europe so most Americans won't be flying them anytime soon.

Yes, I'm traveler, so I am aware, but NOT a customer of Ryan Air; I don't plan to be a customer either. Not all of us here have never left the country!

I'm surprised they didn't charge him for the special attention from the wait staff too!

Well of course they charged him for the sandwich. They even charged him for using the restroom afterwards.

I'm sorry that he didn't return the sandwich -- by vomiting it up in the aisle.

You know airlines are getting what they give. I remember a time where flying was a joy. Flight staff greeted you with smiles and good wishes. Now your thrown off flights, have confrontational staff, no frigging nuts and drink....Why fly anymore. I can get this abuse on the ground and not pay out the A** for the trouble. And don't get me started on filling up granny and small children in the name of "safety" Please enough is enough. Everyone just stop flying for one week. I think some attitudes toward patrons might change......
