Hiker Mauled By Grizzly Bear In Glacier National Park

A 50-year-old hiker was mauled by a grizzly bear at Glacier National Park Friday, but was able to get himself to help, reports the Associated Press.

I worked in Glacier Park, and hikers are always instructed to make noise on the trail to prevent just such a situation. Glad the guy's ok, and hope no action is taken against the bear.

PEOPLE, why on earth do you have to invade Bear Territory for? This isn't a zoo.

Well, you have to hike Glacier to see it (I've done so many times). And seeing the wild animals leads to people wanting to protect them. But absolutely, if a hiker stumbles across a bear or moose and that bear or moose attacks, it's the hiker's fault.
