Tiger Woods, Tag Heuer Split: Golfer Loses Luxury Watch Maker As Corporate Sponsor (VIDEO)

If Tiger Woods' struggles at Bridgestone weren't enough for him to worry about, he may need to find time to make another Japanese heat rub commercial.

Luxury watch maker Tag Heuer has ended its sponsorship deal with the struggling golfer, according to Golf World executive editor Ron Sirak.

"Tiger's agent confirms Woods' Tag Heuer relationship has expired," Sirak tweeted Friday evening.

According to USA Today, the count on corporate sponsors that are no longer associating with Tiger since a 2009 Thanksgiving car accident ignited a firestorm of controversy and introduced the public to a coterie of mistresses is now up to six. The list also includes Gillette, Gatorade, Accenture, AT&T and Golf Digest.

For those who following Tiger's decline, Tag Heur's decision should not come as a surprise. In December of 2009, the Swiss company began to "downscale" its collaborations with Woods and the use of his image, specifically in U.S. advertising campaigns.

No matter how you look at this, it's not good news for Tiger, whose struggles recently prompted Forbes to wonder if his fortune is running out.

For old time's sake, here's a commercial for Tag Heuer watches featuring now former-spokesperson, Tiger Woods.

So much for timely reporting. Tag Heuer and Tiger Woods split more than 6 months ago...just lazy reporting!! What, did this person just see something on YouTube and assume it was current. The problem with some bloggers is research is not in the forefront of their presentations.

Tiger got enough money to last for the rest of his life but it is over for him in the golf world. He does not have it.

Time runs out on a Cheetah'n Tiger, after he gets caught Lion. The only mistake Tiger ever made was getting married. With his swing, I'd be laying honeys from the Mississippi river to the Panama Canal. He'll be back, and when he returns to his former glory all the band-wagoner's will be sitting right beside him praising him all along.

He/She who is without SIN cast the first stone. Mr. Tiger Woods is no different from us older and young people who have sinned and been forgiven. Where is forgiveness. Mr. Woods has made, how much money for your Corp -Tag Heuer Spit, what ever this is all about? Why dump him (Tiger)when you've probably not dropped other celebraties hired to advertise. Their lives were not spiritually and morally acceptable either. If the public could have judged their lives ............ Is this discremination or WHAT? That's alright Mr. Woods will make it without this company, if he leans and depends on the Lord JESUS CHRIST. Amen Missionary KES

Very sad, very sad indeed. This example, among many out there, needs to prompt every parent and teacher to instill in the children that they care for, the law of cause and effect. " If you choose to do THIS, then this is what will happen. If you don't, then this." It's apparent that Tiger did not learn this valuable life principle growing up. Oh, he learned to play the game of golf well, but the game of life, he did not...and now he's paying for it in view of everyone. May this be a lesson for us all!

Give me a break. Tiger is the poster boy for infidelity. Men AND women of all classes and social statuses commit adultery and will continue to do so. Tiger just happen to get a news cycle about it.
12:46 PM on 08/08/2011
Infidelity has been around since man first walked the earth, it's nothing new. The point I am making is that it does not enhance our quality of life, no matter if one is rich/famous--it actually deters from it. We not only break our word to our mate by being unfaithful, we jeopardize our marriage which then could break up a family! What does that teach our children, in turn? Not to trust their straying parent! Infidelity is being selfish & myopic. IF one is the 'straying' type, then they must prepare themselves for a lifetime of misery! That is my point. All the money in the world cannot make one happy, as you can clearly see here. It's all about the quality of the relationships in our life--not the almighty dollar. Tiger is just one case in point. Yes, there are many, but it's a wrong lifestyle, I don't care how many have and will continue to do it. Leto II. It just doesn't work--no matter what we may think and do. It makes people not trustworthy overall--their word is worth zip if they can deceive their own mates! Who can be trusted who does that?!

woods is the "poster boy" for a serial sexual predator, what he did was not normal and is far beyond adultry........

I doubt he will be the only one losing sponsors. The economy will affect the winnings in the near future.

If only corporate money were as uncomfortable lobbying the partisan polarized members of Congress as they are uncomfortable with a Tiger Woods association.

Or am I missing the point?

They pay and use the Tiger Woods association to sell something. They pay and use Congress to buy something.

Tiger just needs to win and the sponsors will come back. Michael Vick just had to score some touchdowns and sponsors came back. America is a very forgiving country.

agreed,...American consumers are very stupid, we buy what the TV box tells us to WAY too often.....From the annoying and rediculous trends (we BOUGHT rocks!), to watches worn by guys who play Golf well! We are forgiving, and pretty stupid too!

All you haters will have to eat your words, because you obviously don't know much about golf, nor do you know anything God's forgiveness. Just as surely as the Creator made grass and dirt, trees and deer, He also said that He never takes back any talent or gifts he gives a man or woman. In addition he promised not to be angry forever with a man who is humbled and repents.

So when the time comes for you to eat your words, please be honest with yourself and openly write to say the same.
