Bjork's 'Virus': New Track Off Biophilia Released

First Posted: 08/08/11 11:29 AM ET Updated: 10/08/11 06:12 AM ET

Bjork-o-philes, open your ears. The latest track off the Icelandic songstress's next album, Biophilia has arrived.

"Virus," which consists of simple, yearning vocals against a tinkly, rhythmic backdrop, follows "Crystalline" and "Cosmogony." Like those songs, and all others on the album, an app accompanying "Virus" will soon be available. The app for "Cosmogony" featured a 3D interactive map of the galaxy.

According to Pitchfork, "Virus" is expected to offer an interactive game that will let users play around with viruses and diseased cells, as their actions trigger the corresponding sounds of a celeste/gamelan mix.

Biophilia is set for release on September 27.

Listen to "Virus" below:

Bjork lost me back at Homogenic, and more power to her for that. Its her thing, not my thing.

Homogenic is my favorite album, it's so amazingly beautiful and haunting. I like her newer stuff, but from Homogenic back, I am so absolutely in love with all of it How can you not get crazy goosebumps from just the first few moments of Joga, or even better, Bachelorette? As you can tell, I'm really into Bjork.

A beautiful voice. Distinguishable from a sea of mediocre, crappy, monotone singers polluting my radio. Glad to see she's still going.

They are completely ignorant of space-war tactics.

Exactly. She has more talent in her pinky nail than most popular artists today. Although, I am loving Florence and the Machine and Adele, but Bjork is a rare talent! She's been recording since she was 14, her level of talent is amazing. I love her former group the Sugarcubes too, if you're not familiar, definitely check them out, especially Birthday!
