Dogs Shaking Off Water (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 08/08/11 12:28 PM ET   Updated: 10/08/11 06:12 AM ET

A wet, shaking dog may be a common sight for pet lovers, but few have ever seen wet dogs captured quite like this. Portland, Oregon based photographer Carli Davidson shares with us these pictures of dogs shaking and making some pretty interesting faces.

Davidson, who has worked in both commercial and documentary photography, also has almost a decade of experience as an animal caretaker and trainer, according to her website. Her work has been featured in publications in both the U.S. and internationally, including The Atlantic, The Village Voice and The Times (UK).

To see pictures from Carli's Pets with Disabilities book project, visit her website. You can also become a fan on Facebook, and see more of her pictures of shaking dogs by clicking here.

Here are a couple of photos of my dog shaking... the last one is just her playing in the water in January with snow and ice on the ground.

Now someone needs to do a photo spread of the aerodynamic lips and ears of "Dogs Riding with their Heads Out the Window."

About "Dogs Riding with their Heads Out the Window"... Most people don't realize just how dangerous that is for the pooch! It can get what we call pneumonia from all that air getting in their lungs/noses not to mention bacteria, viruses, flying debris etc. I will only open my windows a few inches so my doggies can sniff what's outside but NEVER do I let them hang their head out the window.
