First Posted: 08/09/11 03:14 PM ET   Updated: 10/09/11 06:12 AM ET

Amazon.com has announced a top ten list of books for the fall. Chris Schluep, a Senior Editor at Amazon.com books, calls it "one of the best seasons for literary novels to come along in several years."

Take a look at which books Amazon has chosen, and read our thoughts on each one.

Which one of these will you be reading and why? Let us know in the comments!

"The Marriage Plot" by Jeffrey Eugenides
1 of 11
A post-college love triangle set in 1982, by the celebrated author of "The Virgin Suicides" and "Middlesex."

We say: Novel about romance between readers of romantic novels. Sounds novel.

"11/22/1963" sounds really good. I'll probably check that one out.
One that I'm looking forward to is "What Came First" by Carol Snow - http://www.carolsnow.com
I love her other novels, so hopefully this one will be just as good!

For me the only thing that counts are readers ratings between four and five stars, and not only from just one website. I do not trust editor and publisher reviews at all

Looks like I'm just going to finish up the Dune chronicle.

None of these picks resonated with me. I like stories about contemporary issues faced by women today in a gender enhancing way; woman against man; woman against herself; and woman against nature (or the economy). None of these books seemed to feature women in contemporary United States settings. And, please, no more "mean girls grown up" stories about polarizing politicians either. Give us something inspiring to read about real women--young and old-- triumphing over real adversity as we see it everyday here in this nation.

Room by Emma Donoghue may fit the bill for you.

Maybe you should branch out a bit and let go of your man hate.

Amazon books may be business proficient but don't order a book and have to return it. You will not have timely service and may not get the refund. Word to the Wise.

Stephen King called himself "the McDonalds of of literature."

Once again Stephen King "borrows" an idea from a previous work. First "The Simpsons Movie" became his "The Dome" and now he rips off "Replay" by Ken Grimwood and writes "11/22/63". I guess when you've got a big enough swagger in the lit world, publishers don't care about creativity- even if you get caught.

All of these are from major publishing houses--already with a ton of marketing dollars behind them. There were approximately 300,000 new titles published last year in the United States alone--and these 10 books will get plenty of attention.

But there are a startling array of excellent, excellent books published each year, which is why I rely on The Bloomsbury Review--their mission is to review a lot of those genuinely supreb titles that *don't* get the marketing dollars and fly under the mainstream review media.

The Bloomsbury Review struggles to survive issue after issue, and has for over 30 years, because it doesn't get much support from publishers--but they believe in what they do. If you're looking for something extraordinary that hasn't received the attention it deserves, and likely won't, you really should consider looking into it. It's a genuine service to those remarkable authors who are all-too-often overlooked. www.bloomsburyreview.com

And no, I don't get paid for bringing this up. I just admire the hell out of them.

And how much do the publishers pay to get their books on this list I wonder?

Where do we start? And how much space will Huffpo give us?

These don't look like literary fiction to me. Portals to other worlds, and sports, and mostly male authors; not very representative without any small press books either.

I'll be definitely reading Haruki Murakami since I like him very much,

Yes, that one looks to be good, and the Michael Lewis one. Good finds.
