Anthony Gonzalez, Colts Receiver, Says NFL Players Are Using HGH

Could the National Football League's decision to begin testing for HGH open up Pandora's box?

If the comments that Indianapolis Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez made to The Indianapolis Star about the use of human growth hormone by NFL players are accurate, it sure does look like it.

The 26-year-old admits that he doesn't know how prevalent HGH use is in the NFL, but concedes that "to say that it's not being used, that's wrong."

He also revealed that people not affiliated with the Colts organization have suggested he use HGH.

Players ratified the new collective bargaining agreement last week, which is reported to eventually allow the league to use blood testing for HGH. According to the Associated Press, players would be subject to random testing in addition to annual checks.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark was upset by the decision to allow blood tests and told the Los Angeles Times that he thinks that part of the new deal was overlooked because "people wanted to get a deal done so badly."

Commissioner Roger Goodell recently said that he expects the HGH testing program to begin during the opening week of the season.
