Heirloom Tomatoes: Where To Eat These Seasonal Favorites In San Francisco

Meaty, gorgeous and flavorful, heirloom tomatoes are the perfect fruit to grace our dinner plates. The fun dishes below highlight the local bounty from nearby farms. Be sure to taste these lovely jewels before they go out of season in a couple of months!

Stunning and refined, Cotogna is serving heirloom tomatoes with local Albacore "sotto olio." Supplied by Terra Firma farms, the antipasti dish includes varieties such as Flamme, Black Prince, Marvel Stripe and Costoluto Genovese. They're dressed in extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, La Tercera farm shallots and Fino Verde basil. The Albacore is slow cooked with bay leaf, thyme, garlic and Taggiasche olive oil, then preserved in the same oil.
