The value of an individual is in the results.

During Austan Goolsbee's time at the White House Obama's administration produced no positive outcomes.

Austan Goolsbee is just another in a long line of effete, elitist, do-nothing Obama advisors.

Goolsbee is personification of the saying - those that can, do, those that can't, teach.

So if you were an expert in something, and told me what you thought I should do in that area, and I then ignored you because I decided it wasn't feasible, that would be your fault, I take it.

If you knew exactly what to do for the economy, and the Republicans voted the plan down so it wasn't implemented, you're saying that would be YOUR fault.

Think about that before you attack one of the best economic thinkers in the White House.

Nice to know Goolsbee has a mother.

I am an expert in something.
I consult to the biggest companies in the world on the subject matter - and government agencies.

I often offer advice.
They often pick and choose the advice.
They often blame me when the advice doesn't work because they only chose parts.
I just don't feel bad for him at all.

What we don't know, of course, is what advise was actually given.

We do know that Goolsbee is from University of Chicago - Friedman's school - and the center of the supply-side universe. That Obama is not championing more progressive Keynesian policies, is not surprising.

We do know that little of consequence in terms of economic leadership has come out of the White House.

I enjoyed listening to Austan because he was very bright and he was honest. Too honest to be working in Washington.

II was immersed in the DC political culture for 20 years. The term "brilliant" usually means "really good at sucking up."

Goolsbee's advice has been less than good since the campaign.

This is news.

I didn't know Obama had any economic advisers.

Goolsbee will be missed because Obama won't have anyone to remind him how effective his economic policies have been.

A short timer. How can he be missed? Obama should bring back Romer. She was much more capable.

I am sure all the stock holders in GM will miss him ( and Obama in 2012) as stock hits another new low-----
Wonder if the union (UAW) invested in their company since they own a part--
