Gale Hawthrone: Liam Hemsworth As 'The Hunger Games' Character (PHOTO)

In a fictional world, Miley Cyrus and Katniss Everdeen could have a real heart-to-heart about boys. Specifically, Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus' real life on-again, off-again boyfriend (it seems that they've rekindled their romance) stars in "The Hunger Games" as Gale Hawthorne, the childhood friend, hunting partner and potential love interest to the Suzanne Collins' book-to-film's warrior girl protagonist.

Katniss, of course, is being played by Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence, while Josh Hutcherson fills the role of Peeta, her ally in the gruesome fight-to-the-death tournament, and other love interest.

Lionsgate has slowly been releasing still photos of the young star cast, with this pic of Hemsworth as Gale the latest dispatch from the set. The Gary Ross-directed film hits theaters March, 2012. A sequel has already been plotted out, for November, 2013.
