Sarah Schneider Joins 'SNL': College Humor's Leading Lady To Write For Upcoming Season (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 08/11/11 03:53 PM ET   Updated: 10/11/11 06:12 AM ET

It was announced yesterday that College Humor's Sarah Schneider has been hired as a writer at "Saturday Night Live" for this upcoming season.

Schneider's no stranger to the show. She guest wrote on five episodes this past season, including the sketch about Helen Mirren's bosom and the Knights of the Realm sketch starring Elton John and Tom Hanks.

We're excited to see what she cooks up over at Studio 8H, but since Schneider's been a fixture over at College Humor since 2005, we thought the best way to celebrate her departure would be to look back at the best College Humor sketches she's written over the years. Watch our picks below and vote for your favorite.

Good for her, but if that means she's leaving CollegeHumor for good, no way! Sarah is the token lady on the sketches and I would really hate to see her go.

SNL's writing has been dismal since Tina Fey left. All the good political humor dried up when Al Franken left. All those talented actors with nothing to say. Good Luck!

The target audience range for SNL has slowly been creeping down to the low teens. The writing is more and more self-referential, as if Adam Sandler wrote the entire show based on what he thought Adam Sandler would look cute doing.

By the same token, selection of the cast of the show seems to be based more and more on how much they look like the young, hot demographic they're pursuing. Could you imagine a real adult like Chevy Chase, Jane Curtain, or even Dana Carvey in today's cast?

SNL, it was nice knowing you.

Wow, that "Knights of the Realm" sketch was an absolute stinker. Of course, it could all have been Sir Elton's fault, comedy just doesn't seem to be in his forté. In fact, I'm pretty sure he'd rather be in Will Forte....

Glad to see Sarah doing something with herself. She's always such a delight on College Humor.

This is incredibly awesome news! Sarah has been a huge part of what makes CollegeHumor fun, and their loss is sure to be SNL's gain.

Hopefully, as has been known to happen with SNL writers, Sarah will get some on-screen time as well — her CollegeHumor greatness definitely isn't just about her writing work. And, while SNL isn't quite as hard-up for female talent as they were in the recent past, it's still kind of a sausage-fest over there.

If "Apatow World" is any indication this is a very good "get" for SNL. Much smiley in my brain.
