MEALBREAKERS: Swastika Tattoo Found In Swedish Kids' Meal

First Posted: 08/11/2011 6:09 pm   Updated: 10/11/2011 5:12 am

In addition to his fast food meal, an eight-year-old child in Sweden also received an unexpected "gift": a Swastika tattoo.

The surprising addition was one of several tattoos included in the meal.

"We could not believe our eyes. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry," the youth's mother, Malin Hagglund said.

The owners of the fast food restaurant, Frasses, apologized for the incident. They said the tattoos were from China and including the Swastika was a mistake.

The Local notes that the symbol is found in several Asian languages.

It seems like we've got a new Mealbreaker category on our hands; the food may not be contaminated but nonetheless an offensive tattoo can certainly spoil a meal. See other meal offenders below:

Fly In Yogurt
1 of 19
A Chinese woman found a fly in her yogurt in July 2011. When she asked for compensation, the manufacturer asked her to prove that the fly had died before she opened the container -- by getting the insect autopsied. (Flies can not be autopsied.)

Regardless of it's history, The symbol was hijacked by hitler and used for evil. No one is going to look at that symbol and say oh look buddha, quilt squares, or native americans, They are going to say look it's a swastika.

The symbol in question is painted on walls all over Tibet. It is a symbol of endless time and is used for protection.

No problem, all the restaurants in Bangkok have cockroaches, some are on the menu, some on the floor, some in your food, and some are hot footing across your table.
I do however have one question, how did a tampon get into the steak?

It's a Buddhist religious symbol. The arms can go either way. Hitler stole it for the swastika. There are traditional quilt blocks that look like it too. You can find a few in quilts from the early 20th century.
