Cow Escapes From Jamaica, Queens Slaughterhouse, Runs Down Liberty Avenue (VIDEO)

A bull or a steer broke free from a slaughterhouse in Queens yesterday, running down Liberty Avenue in Jamaica and causing quite a spectacle.

Some boys from bestjunkcarsremoval.com laughed while filming the escaped bovine run for its life before eventually being apprehended on the York College campus of the City University of New York.

According to Fox News, the cow tried to run into one of the buildings at the health and physical education complex the but ended up hitting some construction scaffolding that was set up around the buildings.

Two men, one still in slaughterhouse garb, managed to subdue the beast, wrestling it to the ground.

Apparently, it's not uncommon in this Queens 'hood for farm animals to run the streets. "We've seen a few chickens roaming around, but no cow," a man who identified himself as Moe told NBC News.

But this isn't the first time a Queens bull has stampeded away from slaughter.

In 2008, a bull keeled over after a 14 hour chase. But perhaps most dramatic was this 1999 Long Island City incident, when police had to shoot an escaped bull dead.

Eat vegan. Don't be a participant in death. Why does a beautiful creature like a cow have to die so you can eat a crappy hamburger? Eat vegan, be healthy, live longer. It's simple. No dead animals, no dairy, no eggs.

I am sure most people laugh when they read this, but it is really sad. Someone trying to KILL an animal, so it runs away. Brings a tear to my eye to see how cruel our society is... If the average citizen was given a knife to kill and eat that cow or to eat a Veggieburger, I guarantee 99 out of 100 would not kill the cow (at least I would hope)....

This poor animal smelled death, was terrified and running for his life. The cruelty of the man laughing chills me to the bone. How would he like to be on a slaughter line, running for his life if the tables were turned?! Animals have feelings! LOOK TO A PLANT BASED LIFE!!

Oh my god this is right down the street from the FDA where I work..we had a chicken escape from that same place last summer..we let him stay beyond our gates for the whole summer, fed him played with him and named him "George" eventually we had to move him for the upcoming winter or he would not survive..Now he lives in Vermont on a rescue farm and is thriving very well for the rest of his chicken days...
