Iraq tourism might sound like a contradiction in terms, but author Paula Froelich says otherwise in her article Down and Out in Baghdad in Playboy's September issue.
For the piece, Froelich headed to the Green Zone and beyond with Hinterland Travel, a company that specializes in tours to places the average traveler probably wouldn't want to go.
Spoiler alert: She loved it. That isn't to say that there weren't some hiccups along the way as she traveled with a bizarre group of sightseers through a land defined by war and by decades of gilded, Hussein-style insanity.
Froelich told Huffington Post Travel about her trip from the safety of her apartment in New York, where she was recovering, hanging out with her dog and plotting a trip to Somalia.
