Local Kid Donates Piggy Bank To Environmental Nonprofit

San Francisco Chronicle:

On Tuesday, Andrew Kirz, 7, of Mill Valley, stopped by The Nature Conservancy offices in San Francisco to donate the entire contents of his piggy bank. It had taken him more than two years to fill the large firetruck-shaped piggy bank. Most of it, gap-toothed Andrew said, came "from the tooth fairy."

What a great kid so young, displaying compassion and respect. But on a political note it will take much more courage and determination by adults to protect the earth from the destruction from the heavily monied corporations and their lobbyists throughout the country. His parents should be proud.
