TLC Cancels 'Kate Plus 8': Last Season For Kate Gosselin And Kids

Upon hitting what will be the show's 150th episode, TLC is bringing down the axe on Kate Gosselin's "Kate Plus 8." TLC confirmed that after the finale of the show's current season, it will be lights out for Gosselin and her adorable eight.

"TLC has decided not to renew another season of 'Kate +8,'" the network told HuffPost Celeb's Rob Shuter in a statement.

But don't think that just because she'll no longer be gracing the small screen on her namesake show that you won't be seeing Gosselin and her born and bred reality show brood on the tube. TLC has not written the TV mama off altogether.

"TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future," a show rep explained.

Although the cancellation surely came as a shock to the Gosselin bunch, the timing couldn't have been better -- Gosselin recently admitted that she's anxious to get behind the camera as a producer.

News of the cancellation will also, most likely, send fans, who watched Jon and Kate Gosselin's brood grow up, into a tailspin. From watching Kate regain her footing after the couple's split to hearing her kids encourage their mom to start dating again, the series has definitely come full circle -- although some will certainly argue that its last chapter is closing too soon.

In comparing this show to 19 and Counting, I can say that the latter is infinitely more enjoyable to watch. Even though the Duggars have more than twice the kids that Kate has, you don't see tantrums by the parents and in each episode the children (either alone or with their parents) get involved in useful charitable endeavors. I think there is a lot to be said for being spiritual and loving, and it shows in the way the children behave. And the show itself does not support the family, which is very important to note here because I'm sure that the majority of what is earned from the Gosselin's show is what supports them day to day. I do hope that Kate goes back to Nursing so she can recover some of her humbleness and graciousness that she's seemed to have lost. I do think she's a very caring mother to her brood, but the poor way she treats the adults in her life may rub off on them, which will lead them to a very lonely existence. Parents want their children to reach their full potential as individuals, this show did not celebrate the individual in each child but depicted them always in a group doing group activies (except for on their birthdays). I hope, with the end of the show, the children can now be free to develop into their individual selves.

For someone who Is Worried about her Future and money issues, She must of not been hurting too bad considering the Audi she bought. If she was really thinking of the kids she would of Purchased something the kids would require or could be useful after the series like Clothing, A mini van or even invested something for their future... Seems to me she is only out for her own self.

Here is a hint princess its just like your ex Husband said ; "Get a real job."

Not surprised that the show was cancelled after this season. Kate is a negative person who whines and complains about EVERYTHING. She is not the role model we should be showing to our children. She needs an attitude adjustment. Maybe she should spend her time in therapy and figure out how to be a more positive person in her life for her kids.

I Totally AGREE w/ 99% of the NEGATIVE Posted Comments about this WITCH but I would like to Ask everyone what is this "Narcissist­ic Nightmare" thinking she's some kind of Celebrity or Famous Actress? I obviously don't Watch the Show by Choice. In the begiining my Wife watched the Show regularly and became Attched to the Kids. Every now and then I catch a Glimpse of the Show when my Wife is Watching it and we both Agreed that Kate use to be so Humble the first couple of Seasons. Howver, each new Season her Ego gets Noticeably Worse to the Point of Carrying herself like some kind od Snobby Actress but Worse. She talks down to Everyone, including the Poor Nanny and Acts as if she's Better than... What could Possibly going on her in her Narcissist­ical Mind to think she's got this Mraculous Gift to Act and supposedly Produce TV Shows? Supposedly, there's No Acting involved in Reality TV Shows, especially Rasing 8 Kids. Obviously Raising 8 Kids isn't very Easy which makes the Show so Appealing. But she's got this Witchy-Snobby and very Disgusting Attitude... I get Embarrassed for her, she's making a Fool out of herself and wonders why Everyone walks out on her - Everyone else has Issues except for her? I would Recommend that she take a Good Loook in the Mirror but she wouldn't be able to look without Admiring herself!

I have not watched a show since Jon left and I have to say that I so enjoyed last night and their RV episode. Finally she is not being edited to looks less psychotic. She's a rip roaring, selfish, unreasonable, narcissistic nightmare and it showed through last night. It's always everyone elses fault, always the excuse of how she's not yelling at YOU but at the situation... finally you got to see Kate's bad behavior and laundry list of excuses. She's right... everyone leaves her life eventually but if she was honest about it... they leave HER and were only there because they loved her children. I hope she gets some help.... but those kind never do.

Finally this horrible woman will be off TLC. When the show first aired they were a fun, loving, struggling family. Kate has morphed into the role of a mean & dreadful Mom and overall 8itch. I really feel for her children. It will be interesting to see if they have anything to say about this experience when they are older.

I can't stand how much she has changed for the worst. She used to be so nice, and now it's like the kids are annoying her and spoiling HER fun! Everything has to be her way. I couldn't BELIEVE she told the 2 older kids "You should know by now that when you're helping me you should be running all the time." Child Labor!! THEY ARE KIDS! You the "grown up" should be doing the majority of the work.

There is so much to say about her but basically she has turned in to a spoiled little brat with kids that are ruining her fun. Grow up!

for those poor kids. Do you see the looks on their poor little faces when she screams and yells at the crew and the kids and the ladies that come to help her? I love to see the show, but please
do not try and put Kate on any other shows unless it is something named "Worst Witch Ever".

I so agree, since Jon left she has become a downright nasty vindictive and totally abusive woman. As a parent, I think respect for others is taught and she has given her kids carte Blanche to be verbally rude and possibly abusive to others. Maybe Jon wasnt the bad guy she made him to be and who can blame him for finding companions that are less aggressive . I havent watched since Jon left and hope to hill no one picks her up . Let these children now develop a normal life and be kids. DHS should probably keep tabs on her!!

Approve this i dont like what you are doing to me as i am trying to post about this show, i will send out emails to say what i want, and as for the networks, i will not view your shows, i back up charlie sheen, Jon, from Jon and Kate plus 8, and i hope Feds fry Ashton Kutcher. ty for nothing and your shows suck it really shows, i mean what next cancel my aoI account, its ok if Charlie can take it i can to.
